I personally think that the 25 refresh is big! The trailer assist package is a game changer! Also the bigger screen with sync 4, 360 camera, AA/Carplay wireless connection, additional safety features and a slight improvement in mpg are significant. Also the engine in the EB is now dual port, reducing carbon build up. Last, but not least, Eruption Green color, is available.
Also push button start on the XLT. Really wish I would have gotten 360 assist on my 24 but did not want that mudflap front end on the 25.

Haha... I get it. I love my Mav, but the thing I was thinking is... Top 10 trucks in the US... Were there more than 10 to choose from?

I guess with the electrics and the half ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton versions of the full sizes you get there. But I was thinking it's kind of like finishing top 10 in a race with 15 competitors.
Slash...I was JUST getting ready to state the same thing. It is in the top 10 out of like what......12 trucks?? LOL Now....if it was top 5 in the 10 Best "Vehicles" overall.....then yeah.....get out the graffiti . That being said....I LOVE LOVE LOVE my 2024 XLT.

it's trucks, suvs, and vans actually. there are a lot more than 10 of those, but I too laughed at 10 best trucks for the same reason.

the overall winner is the volkswagen id.buzz which is hilarious. it just went on sale and close to no one has driven it besides journalists.

the only other Ford in the list is the Ranger Raptor, which they commented is a 'steal' at $57k. compared to a F150 Raptor or a Bronco Raptor, that's true. Especially the Bronco Raptor as they have the same powertrain, and the Braptor starts at $90k.

I haven't finished reading the whole list yet, but I'm definitely going to check out what exactly they liked about the ram 1500 besides the twin turbo inline 6. (13 years after ford did a twin turbo v6, hah.)

Definitely agree on the hilarity of that one. It is a nostalgic attention-getter the same way that the New Beetle was. From a distance, it seems practical, but that range... oof. You aren't loading up the family and going on a cross-country trip to Walley World in it, that's for sure.

Personally I have nothing but middle fingers for VW as long they insist on the haptic swipey volume control.

Gawd I hate those phony write ups from the car websites. Full of puffery and gushing over every car they review. First thing I tell anyone that starts talking about buying a car is to skip those sites and go to the forums of REAL car owners with unpolished and unbiased options about the vehicle.

I’ve seen these promoted car sites give rave reviews for total crap vehicles.

With that, I have a Maverick on order. I’ve never read the fake car sites about the Maverick. I do read this forum daily.

Understand your sentiment, but often these puff pieces will provide some vital information. FWIW, I think C&D gushing over the Maverick is because 4 years after its introduction and 3 after it started production, the demand and popularity for this size vehicle remains high, proving Ford took a gamble and won big. So where is everyone else? I believe Toyota, Honda and Subaru would all score well utilizing their current compact chassis. They could all charge +3-4K over a Corolla/Civic/Impreza and people would pay it.

II don't

It was in the options when I was building it
I think you got the bed extender - there is only one bed size for the Maverick.

I ordered my 2025 Awd hybrid with a sunroof, 4k tow package, extended bed and Lariat package. Can't wait!
I would love to get a 2025 AWD hybrid 4k(except for that front end, sorry) but I am still happy with my 2022 XLT AWD 4k getting 500+ miles city/highway a tank. Plus wouldn't look forward to waiting another 9 months 10 days for delivery, LoL. As far as the fit and finish, I'm very happy with my Maverick.

That reminds me of the Chevy Vega I bought after Car and Driver raved about it. Never bought another Chevy since. But loving my Maverick!

Well it's their top ten, it's literally meant to be a puff piece announcing their award winners. It's the reviews that get more into the details and such.

2024 Ford Maverick Review, Pricing, and Specs

Kinda like a movie awards show, announcing and showing clips of the top 5 movies for best picture. You get the highlights of the ones in the running and hyping it up, but it's not meant as an actual review.

Here's the 1983 top ten for the Pontiac 6000STE:

" If the downsized General Motors big cars of 1977 were the best American cars since the end of World War II, the 1982 General Motors A-bodies are the best since 1977, and the Pontiac 6000STE is the best of all. Exactly opposite the Firebird, the 6000STE is light and lively, features the most up-to- date technology available from GM, and comes wrapped in sheetmetal that can only be described as controversial. Another major point of differentiation is the fact that these cars aren’t selling very well. We believe that the appearance of the A-cars will grow on the American public, and the 6000STE ought to lead the way in that regard. It is, by our lights, the most handsomely trimmed and detailed new product in the current GM portfolio. It is also the least compromised, and the one that does the best job of telegraphing exactly what kind of car it is, and to exactly what kind of driver it is supposed to appeal. This is in every way a Car and Driver kind of car. Fun to drive, economical, distinctive in appearance, comfortable in an active participant’s sense of the word, and absolutely contemporary. "

These awards have always been their puff pieces.
