I don't have to be a fanboy having a love feast to use something. As I've said every time a fanboy says nonsense like this, it's not the perfect vehicle, nor the worst. It is what it is, and I'm okay with it, but I won't lie about it's strengths and weakness just to suck up to people like you.
Lol. Fine, keep your truck but find some happiness man. Your energy on MTC is that of a wet towel.

Gawd I hate those phony write ups from the car websites. Full of puffery and gushing over every car they review. First thing I tell anyone that starts talking about buying a car is to skip those sites and go to the forums of REAL car owners with unpolished and unbiased options about the vehicle.

I’ve seen these promoted car sites give rave reviews for total crap vehicles.

With that, I have a Maverick on order. I’ve never read the fake car sites about the Maverick. I do read this forum daily.

Haha... I get it. I love my Mav, but the thing I was thinking is... Top 10 trucks in the US... Were there more than 10 to choose from?

I guess with the electrics and the half ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton versions of the full sizes you get there. But I was thinking it's kind of like finishing top 10 in a race with 15 competitors.

It's not inexpensive, and let's be honest it does feel cheap.
I'd agree to a point as IMO you need to look at it from the perspective of a $20K vehicle, so I'm OK with the interior materials. My wife is not and 100% feels its cheap and overpriced at our out the door $30K XLT w/lux. So depends upon your view and what you're use to I suppose.

In context to the truck market, starting in 2022, it is inexpensive, comparatively. And my Mav does not feel cheap at all, it actually feels better than the price point I bought it for. YMMV. 🤠
Agree 100%

You mean even this total lie in the article?

It's not inexpensive, and let's be honest it does feel cheap.
Even the expensive version has a cheap feeling. But it’s not really expensive and doesn’t feel really cheap.

For a new vehicle I would say it is inexpensive. Next years is pricing up again a nice chunk, but 2024 is 23,900 MSRP to start. That's a few hundred over a base Corolla hatch or Nissan Kicks base models, and less than $5k over a base Mirage G4 (the 78 horsepower car). It's closer to a Mirage than any truck except a Santa Cruz is to it. My other options for my needs are all MUCH more expensive.

Sure you can get a base Jetta or Mazda 3 (sedan at least) in that price range starting which do have much nicer interiors. And I get comparing to the initial price, yes it has gone up so not inexpensive relative to a 2022 (though what is).

I get you on the "cheap" bit. I would say the word "cheap" is subjective. To me a subcompact SUV or compact car with some 150hp base engine and 30 inches or less of rear legroom (or SUV that gives up any storage space behind the rear seats for legroom) is what feels cheap. You can add leather power seats and 18 inch rims and such, but a lawnmower engine and seats for kids only is what screams cheap to me.

I disagree on your comment as to the Maverick feeling cheap. We have a ford edge and I drove a Chevy Cruze . So maybe my expectations might be set low, but I find my lariat solid and comfortable .

Seeing that as of July 2024 - the average price of a new vehicle was $48,401 - the most expensive Mavericks are still 15-20% less than that it is most definitely an inexpensive vehicle.

That is why my $39,300 Lariat AWD Hybrid 4K tow is an amazing value at roughly 20% less than the average new vehicle.

Despite all the recalls, the Maverick still retains this ranking which is fantastic. I say that because of the latest camera freeze recall on the 22-24 XL and XLTs. I would also imagine any Lariats from 22-23 that didn't have the luxury package with Sync 3 are affected as well since it's the same hardware as the XL and XLTs. I realize no vehicle is perfect, especially this day in age. When it comes to a value perspective, it's no reason why it makes this list. Despite all the price hikes within the last couple of years, it is still the cheapest new truck on sale.

The 25 refresh may not be for everybody but I think it has become even more of a value champion with the inclusion of an AWD Hybrid. IMHO, this will more than likely be the best selling configuration of Maverick next year. You get the best of both worlds this way: hybrid efficiency mixed with AWD capability. They'll still sell plenty of FWD Hybrids next year for those who don't need AWD but I can definitely see Ecoboost sales being affected, especially since they got rid of FWD. Although it gets a slight boost in efficiency next year, it still won't compare to both Hybrids. Not to mention a decrease in power which is the whole point of getting the Ecoboost. I'm sure most won't notice but on paper, it looks bad.

I personally think that the 25 refresh is big! The trailer assist package is a game changer! Also the bigger screen with sync 4, 360 camera, AA/Carplay wireless connection, additional safety features and a slight improvement in mpg are significant. Also the engine in the EB is now dual port, reducing carbon build up. Last, but not least, Eruption Green color, is available.

I ordered my 2025 Awd hybrid with a sunroof, 4k tow package, extended bed and Lariat package. Can't wait!
Sounds great -- but I'm not finding much info on an extended bed for 2025?
