tbone289 used the laugh icon on your post because while that's factually true, 10% ethanol gas (E10) will not account for a 5mpg difference in a maverick - hybrid or ecoboost - compared to E0.
It will make a 3mpg difference with an ecoboost, I have tested it on a 250 mile loop several times.

It's nice to see that at least one person's observations match the theoretical advantage discussed the thread, and not an exaggerated result.

40f to 50f not to cold yet
There's a distinct difference between mild temperatures and 40f for the warmup cycle, and add winter blend (oxygenated) fuel on top of that.

I'll stick by the facts. If I get a 5 mpg improvement in economy, I'll take it.

In the summer, I can push the start button on my hybrid, back out of the garage and down the driveway, and get a block or two up the street before the ICE kicks in. 40 degrees yesterday, The ICE kicked in before I even left the garage.

At .50 per gallon you are paying (on average $6.00 more per tank) or the equivalent of 2 gallons of Regular 87 octane.

5 additional MPG does not justify the .50 per gallon.

The best benefit of True Gas is your engine will have less water condensation in the fuel system and the engine should last longer.

I specifically buy True Gas for use in Chainsaws, mowers and generators along with Stabil treatment. Chainsaws, mowers and generator don't get put to use as often.
I haven't put any in my 2.5 maverick yet but I put about 2oz/5 gal of Lucas fuel treatment with injector cleaner ($25/gal at Walmart) into my 10% ethanol regular which emulsifies any condensate in my my mowers chainsaws and diesel tractors. It also adds a little octane also. I don't add stabil when I use it.

In the winter will the ICE run all the time?
Mine runs on and off, just like in the summer. The heater setting and the outside temperature, however, will cause it to run more.

Happens at about 52-54°F I read somewhere to warm cats and HVB which needs around 70°F for optimum charge/discharge current levels.
