Or just take it to an independent mechanic you know & trust to do periodic inspections & maintenance. No need to bother with a stealership's service department.

Any decent service center is essentially doing the inspection at every oil change, at least ours does. They look over the main wear components and other service items.

Didn't know vehicles had 30,000 mile " checkups" now. Is this something Ford recommends? And if so what do they want to check?

Depends on what blows up and needs warranty repair. If they can blame it on a missed service then you might be sol.

There is no 30,000 mile 'checkup'. The Owner's Manual lists what services are required and when. Do what's in the manual on schedule.

The EB manual doesn't have something like this?
With this link giving a 30K that includes all these items and a few more.
Everyone has a way to check their coolant strength correctly - not old school tool but new?
Checking brake fluid water% I believe was one too, which is going to need a special tool.

Scheduled Maintenance Service Intervals
For your scheduled maintenance service intervals, visit https://www.ford.com/support/maintenance-schedule.
Owner Checks and Services
Make sure you perform the following basic maintenance checks and inspections every month or at six-month intervals.

Check Every Month
Engine oil level.
Function of all interior and exterior lights.
Tires, including spare, for wear and proper pressure.
Windshield washer fluid level.

Check Every Six Months
Battery connections. Clean if necessary.
Body and door drain holes for obstructions. Clean if necessary.
Cooling system fluid level and coolant strength.
Door weatherstrips for wear. Lubricate if necessary.
Hinges, latches and outside locks for proper operation. Lubricate if necessary.
Parking brake for proper operation.
Seatbelts and seat latches for wear and function.
Safety warning lamps (brake, ABS, airbag and seatbelt) for operation.
Washer spray and wiper operation. Clean or replace blades as necessary.

Multi-Point Inspection
In order to keep your vehicle running right, it is important to have the systems on your vehicle checked regularly. This can help identify potential issues and prevent major problems. We recommend having the following multi-point inspection performed at every scheduled maintenance interval to help make sure your vehicle keeps running great.

Multi-Point Inspection
Accessory drive belt(s) Hazard warning system operation
Battery performance Horn operation
Engine air filter Radiator, cooler, heater and air conditioning hoses
Exhaust system Suspension components for leaks or damage
Exterior lamps operation Steering and linkage

I’m in for my 30k and on the dealer computer he shows me that the 30k involves air filter and cabin filter replacement and also a transmission fluid change that is $500 for the transmission fluid. The app just says to check the transmission fluid. I have a feeling that this dealer has inflated his computer list of the 30k inspection to make more money. I need an official list. I don’t know if I need to buy a factory service manual or if it’s in the owner’s manual. What say you? I bought the 175k extended warranty and don’t want them to have excuses for not paying warranty.

Advice to make sure all this gets done. Try to locate a dealership or mechanic that will send you a video where the service tech shows you what he found. It's very reassuring, and more dealers are doing it these days.

Though some techs recommend 30K-mile transmission oil changes for the 8F35 in the EB models, Ford should definitely not be recommending it for the Hybrid eCVT as a normal service.

Unlike the automatic, there are no friction materials (clutches/bands) in the hybrid transmission. Breakdown of the friction modifier additives are the main reason for changing automatic transmission fluids.

Think of the hybrid transmission as more like a manual transmission. It only contains gears and bearings so the lubricant lasts a long time.
