I got 20 phone calls from salesmen hoping I no longer wanted the truck and Ford points
I’m still getting emails offering to buy my 24 lariat hybrid, offering me a new 24 lariat hybrid…

With my purchase, I got a recommendation to a particular restaurant nearby.

(it WAS good though)
Funny, when we bought our Acura new in 2014 (the vehicle the Maverick replaced), the F&I guy was probably the coolest, most easy-going dealer staff member I have ever dealt with.

It was late, and he recommended an Indian/Pakistani place we never would've found on our own. Over a decade later, that dealer has closed up shop, but we still go eat at the restaurant. :)

there's free popcorn in the lobby of my nearest ford dealer . . . also a Mustang Sally's diner off of it.

I just ordered a bed mat using my FordPass points so it was no cash out of pocket.

OK, thank y'all for your good help on this problem. I called the FordPass hotline and got my points restored, but only for the next five days. Having just changed the oil myself I decided to buy a NOCO quick jump start device. I was thinking of buying one anyway, so this worked out OK. I think I'm all set and I thank you so much for the new NOCO starter pack. steve

You were given 42,000 Ford Pass Points when you buy a new Maverick I also use my Ford Credit Card occasionally, just to keep my points active. I use the points for oil changes and tire rotations.
Bought a new '22 and '24, and have never paid for any service at the dealer. Still like my Amex Blue Card better, 6% back on groceries. Just get the FordPass App and set up an account.

I just finished doing the first oil change on my 2024 Maverick. As I was about to start, having already purchased the oil and filter, my wife asked why this wasn't a freebie. I must admit I didn't know what the dealer said about perqs with the purchase of this truck. Can someone enlighten me about what I'm missing out on. I only have about 1200 miles on the truck, but I wanted to do an oil change during its break-in. Thanks, Steve.
1st oil change is or should be free, at least at my dealership it was.

Once again, thank y'all for your help. I don't recall (?pun) the dealership offering me a free oil change; even if they did, it's nearly 45 minutes to an hour one way, in Houston traffic. So, just not worth it. I've changed the oil and filter myself in every car I've ever owned, except for my wife's Toyota Highlander (too much trouble). There is something nice about knowing that you did it yourself : you got the oil and filter you wanted, and the job was done as it should've been. Even the skid plate was easy to remove and replace. All in all, it's a pretty easy job.

On another subject, admitting now that I do not own 5 million shares of Ford, I will say that they got a decent recommendation from "Value Line", trading at an amazingly low 6.6 P/E ratio,. Not a stock you will make a quick buck on, but it does pay a fat 5.6% dividend. "Value Line" liked it for a long-term hold, so it seems like a reasonable purchase for an IRA.. steve

So mid-2019, F was down around $10/share, plus that fat dividend. Looked like a great holding to me, bought a bunch (not 5mil like you). Come 2020, Covid hit, dropped down into the $4's, then the dividend was eliminated.

Took some time to get my money back out of it,,,,,,

@HRG Hot Runr Guy I too, was holding Ford in around 2019, actually probably for the 10 years before that as well. But, as is typical of my investing style, I didn't pay much attention and I still hold the same number of shares except for that reinvested. Not every stock is NVDA! s

The Ford Pass points are good for about 3 EB oil changes and 2 Hybrid Oil Changes because the Hybrid use more expensive full synthetic oil.

As a first year buyer I got a free fits system kit. Free trash can; free under seat dividers, free extra cup holders, Etc.

Also today in the mail I got my free 10 year / 150,000 mile engine warranty did you get yours?
