Hyper Flash after Turn Signal Recall

Mine flashes rapidly. I've swapped bulbs and Lasfit sent me another pair but it still happens at random. I've tweaked Forscan to ignore a 'bulb out' condition on the rears with no effect.

That was known issue with the Lasfits before the turn signal recall. When the bulbs start getting hot from prolonged operation it will hyperflash.

I took my 2023 Maverick Hybrid, for Its first oil change last month 03/2024. While it was at the dealer I asked for the blinker bulb recall to be performed. The dealer called two days later and said the update failed and could not get any thing to work. No Dash, or Start cant even roll up the drivers window. See attached picture they had to put it on roller skates to move it around. Some module was to be replaced and reportedly on order, with an unknown delevery date. Three weeks later I get a call that all was ready..... the tech finally figured out somthing to reboot the computer. I have the truck back and the oil was changed, no charge.... but the recall is still pending, and unfinished. I am very leary of any updates if the system can brick the truck that easily.. Has this been dicsussed on this fourm?

Sounds like they bricked a module when trying update it with the FDRS software. If something is interrupted during the update like the software or computer crashes, it can completely brick a module and that's probably why they had to order and new module and reprogram it to the factory settings (prior to recalls/updates)

I was told the new (unavaiable) module was not installed and they figured somthing out on how to hard reboot the system. The Ford App. reports the update stiil needs to be done. Maybe the next critical update will install and fix this issue. The oil change was not recorded in the history... and the infotainment/map system is acting differently.

Can anyone else who has LEDs in and had the recall done confirm....the turn signals indicators on the dash hyper blink, but NOT the actual turn signals?

Yes, I can confirm this. I had the recall done today and this is exactly what happened to my truck. LED turn signals work fine on the outside, but hyper flash on the inside as if a turn signal bulb is out.

The hyper flashing has to be a resistor (or lack thereof) problem. I put LEDs in my '68 and had to replace the flasher under the dash. Simple plug and play fix. I guess the Maverick (maybe all newer cars) doesn't have this this flasher like cars of yesteryear had?

I wasn't planning on having this recall done and now I definitely do not plan to have it done.

Just make sure when you go to Ford to have service, to tell them not to do the recalls. I went in for a check engine light, and when I returned , all the recalls were done. I did not ask them to do them. .

Did you consider that updating the software as per the recalls was actually the fix for your CEL?

This will sound kinda dumb, but did you try unplugging them turn them and plug back in?

no. In my experience they don’t operate correctly if upside down. They worked fine for over a year. Did turning them work for you?

So what i've gathered, and mostly this is from my butt, the resistor is going to be one side of the pins and that is the side you want power to go through to deal with the hyper flash.

2 per side, a total of 4 resistors. One of the vendors @Diode Dynamics will hook you up!

Happened to me this week. Dealer finally came out for 3 recalls, all software updates. 45 minute later, hyperfast turn signals. Left front parking light was out. Replaced with normal bulb (not LED) which is now working again but still hyperfast clicking. Is there a FORSCAN solution for speed?
