Will the first scheduled MY25 builds have more issues or less issues than the rest?

Do we think that those who have their trucks scheduled for the first 3 weeks will have a higher quality build due to the closer attention being paid for the first run as well as the 4-6 week QC hold? Or do you think it will be the opposite and the first runs will have more issues because they haven't had enough builds to find the issues? Curious to hear what people think!

Probably depends on if those first builds for 2025 are actually given in-depth inspections and used by real customers to stress test all capabilities and functions. If so, then they should be able to catch a lot of the general initial quality issues. But if they just sit and no ones actually using those first 2025s, then it's a moot point to hold them if Ford isn't actually doing a deep dive into their quality and correctness.

I don't think anyone has really gotten info on what those additional quality checks will be to know for sure whether it'll make a difference or not.

Potential issues would likely be related to the areas that have been updated.
Such as:
  • Hybrid All-Wheel Drive and new Hybrid HF55 Transmission
  • Upgraded Technology - Infotainment Upgrade with SYNC 4 and Larger Screens
  • Tremor - Advanced 4WD with Twin Clutch Rear Drive Unit
  • New headlights

just to add to this, the Hf55 at least isn't completely brand new, and is already in some vehicles. So far it hasn't been a problem for them, so I'm really hoping this translates to the maverick.

Tremor is not really changing in terms of its drive train and twin clutch diff. The old Tremor had this too.

Everything that is being updated has been on other Ford vehicles for a few years with the exception of the updated EcoBoost engine.

Yes, I understand that no one will actually know the answer, but I wanted to hear what others think in regard to build quality of first runs vs later and if that changes with the hold. Just trying to have some conversation while I wait for my truck. Enjoy Vegas.

I'm inclined to think the first trucks will have more issues due to the newness of the modifications and lack of familiarity with the new process.

As someone scheduled for a November build, I REALLY hope the additional quality control measures they put in place make the initial trucks as good as the ones that come out after the kinks have been worked out.

Most of the issues were already faced with the 2022-2024 Mavericks. I think if there are any new issues, they will be with the upgraded electronics with the larger screen and no knobs to control various functions.
