Another vote for hybrid. Yeah it has hybrid components, but it also doesn't have direct injection (potential carbon/coking issues), a turbocharger, intercooler, planetary gear transmission, or accessory drive system.

I'm holding my breath to see if a hybrid AWD will be available in a couple years and/or by the mid-cycle refresh.
It does have a torque converter and planetary gear set, but no clutches, super simple design. Pretty much the same as toyota camry, ford fusion hybrid design.

My 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid gave me 6 years of trouble free driving before a deer took care of it. I would suspect the Maverick Hybrid would be just as reliable, if not more, since it has several years of refinement since then.

While I haven't owned a Ford Ecoboost, I have and do own other turbo motors, and know they can have their issues. I'm assuming the 2.0 doesn't have the head gasket problems like the 2.3 did, but I've heard of other issues like the boost control solenoid conking out early, and the exhaust manifold cracking.

No torque converter. The ICE into planetary is pretty much direct aside from a breakaway clutch.
