24 XLT FX4 2.0 eco boost. Anyone else experiencing that as the trans shifts from 1 to 4 and if you keep speed steady the trans seems to ‘lug’ until you take foot off the gas or push on it to speed up. It doesn’t seem to want to downshift just ‘lugs’. Truck feels awful during this, shakes lightly and sounds awful. It’s brand new dammit! Another reason why I like manual trans.

Try Sport mode.

No sport mode on my FX4 unfortunately.
You can enable it fairly easily with Forscan. There's more info on this forum if you search for it.

But yes, I have the same lugging. October 2021 build...

Where would I look on this forum to find out about Forscan? Thanks

Mine does the same thing. Is annoying, but I can work around it by being a little more aggressive with the acceleration, or be patient with it until it speeds up a little more.
Sport mode shifts better, but doesn’t let it go into the last two gears (at least not up to 70mph). Tow/haul is good for towing and hauling, but the added downshifting and engine braking in every day use is more annoying to me than the lugging.

Mine doesn't do this, even in normal mode. When cruising around town it's usually in a higher gear than I would normally select in a manual, but it never lugs or shakes and is fairly good at downshifting as load builds on hills. Clearly the shift strategy leans toward economy but I don't have to dip far into the throttle to get a downshift when needed. My '24 was built on 8/8/24.

The transmission controller learns shift strategy from your driving habits. Maybe you could talk to your service department about resetting it so that it initiates the learning process again.

I hated how the transmission shifted in my 2022. After a tune from a Cobb Accessport it shifted wayyyy better. I've had the tune for over 30K miles and it's been great.
