Sorry 36 gal tank get 17.5 - 18.2 mpg sometime more = 600 mile per tank and a little more. Don't care about mpg. 5500 lbs baby just roll over the little cars....lol
Know you're joking, sort of, but the brodozer male compensators around here are why I don't want my son inheriting my VW Golf. I mean why have one person drove somewhere in a reasonably sized vehicle when they can have a 6,000 lb crew cab pickem up.? Probably sell it and get something bigger

Know that when the car manufacturing poobahs first decided to place a fuel pump inside the gas tank there was more than a slight chance of the pump seizing up from overheating if the tank often dropped below a quarter full.

Presumably that is no longer so?
Definitely better not to let the level get too low as the fuel cools the pump

When I first purchased the F150 I needed something to pull my boat and we had the grandkids a lot. They were small. No way I was putting them in a little shit box.

Actually sold it couple yeas ago. Almost cried, would not fit in my garage as I had moved. I have had a lot of vehicles. They one was my absolute favorite. Had it little over 12 years, no problems only had 92K on the clock.
I my area of Florida red light runners are normal. One has to look both way when the green appears.

I agree with most of that but that little *s*** box" comment leaves a little bit of your mentality out there.... I work with a guy like that he's like " I'm not going to drive a little puddle jumper people might question my masculinity" . Well he didn't use that last word, that was a few too many syllables..... That's my point it turns into an arms race. Totally understand the idea of having to tow a boat or something what I'm talking about is a lot of guys who you see them by themselves towing nothing flying down the road in a tank where the top of the hood is higher than the roof of my Golf. I mean isn't it a little ridiculous that driving a normal size vehicle is considered a risky behavior?I guess the only thing that would stop it would be dot regs or gas at $8 dollars a gallon.
As for the red light running I mean you are in Florida.....

I'm not gonna go back and forth but if you don't like my replies stop being juvenile in words you use. You hint if a person has a big truck they have masculinity issues or are compensating. I think just the opposite people who talk like that are the ones with issues, compensating by using words to make themselves feel better. A shit box is a shit box. In 2010 time frame that would be anything like or smaller than a Ford Focus any brand. I would never put my children in something like that. We always had one large vehicle. I wore out 3 different Ford Escorts due to the miles I drove. My kids never were in those.

What words to make myself feel better? You drive too many Fords , other companies make smaller cars with much better build quality.
I didn't hint I said it. I said if someone needs to tow or haul a lot a big truck makes sense but there are a lot of d-bags who get a giant truck, lift it sky high and put an obnoxiously loud exhaust on it then proceed to drive like the anti social creeps they are. I'm sorry if some of the words I use aren't down to the appropriate level I'm not doing it intentionally. But the point you're missing is that I'm simply saying that the fact that you wouldn't put your kids in a car that isn't a lot bigger is my point.
The Big Three never wanted to make small cars they made junk. Who would buy a Ford escort when you could get a Honda civic?

"Missed it by that much" - 599.37. I have come to the conclusion that I either have to stop obsessing over squeezing as many kilometers on battery as I can and just enjoy driving my truck or leave my wife... every time I have her in the truck she is playing with the AC and/or Heat. With winter just around the corner I think I am going to stop tracking and just try to get used to going 4-5 weeks between fill ups.

I had a close one myself-

I blame it on my wife also, she didn't drive, she just made me late...

Well this little portion of the club was not that hard to hit!
Did not even do it in eco mode, I am becoming a trained hyper miller though!
Did I mention that I am loving this vehicle?!
15 days between fill ups is looking great!
It is a sham.....I had a few more miles to empty!

I am curious… I am able to squeeze under the 600 mile / tank between most fills but some are doing even better. Where I live it is fairly hilly and my 15-20 minute commute is down then up from home to work and back again so any gains going down or on the flats are pretty much lost going back up the other side. Those hitting the mid 600’s and over 700’s are you flatlanders or do you drive longer distances on a regular basses? I assume because my normal drives are fairy short I also loose some mileage/ gallon because my truck does not have enough time to earn back the time spent warming up the ice?

I drive fairly flat most of the time and just recently got above 600 for the first time, but it took a lot of effort to maintain a 44mpg average and I even had to run the tank down to fumes to get 600. I am running Super Unleaded, but realized my tires had all gone down to 28-9 psi, so we'll see if I can do it this next tank. This time I am trying more punch in my punch (or pulse) and glide with more pedal to get up to speed then backing off to 0-5% power to coast as much as possible. The people getting 600-700 are often driving under 40mpg on flat land and using minimal ICE power.

Modern engines don’t need warmed up before driving, just get in and go. I’ve 2 Mavericks a 22AWD and a 23 hybrid I’ve gotten 600 mile tanks out of both. I do live in flatlands but do a lot of wandering around in the Ozarks. I generally keep speed 65 or lower, use cruise control extensively even in town where possible, no Jack rabbit starts and coast up to stop signs especially in hybrid as that’s where in regenerates the juice for hybrid system. My AWD with 38k miles is averaging 33mpg. The hybrid with 13k miles I’m averaging 46 mpg.
