Finding the 2025 Maverick is not hidden. I found it.
New people come into the market every day.
I was not in the market for a truck six months ago.

I started thinking about a new truck and then read an article about the 25 AWD hybrid Maverick and decided that I would buy one. So I did.

The front of the truck is wonkey but I don’t buy vehicles strictly on the appearance. So much more to a truck than the front end.

Most dealers want to low ball you on a trade in so nothing new there,.

Just traded away my mav and did OK on it. KBB and Carfax had it as trading higher than I was ever offered in trade by 3 different dealers even after some negotiating. KBB's average trade value dropped $1k in a week while I was shopping.

I just read on another thread that Ford only got like 6k pre-orders for 2025. If this is true, it means supply has caught up with demand. THAT means prices are set to drop across the board unless Ford reduces production.

When I first got my '22, Carvana was offering people like $5k over what they paid and a IIRC few people here said they took the deal. Now Carvana made the lowest offer of anyone. Their prices crashed a while ago but it was enough to make me think that the used market for mavs is changing a lot. This will tend to drive new prices down as well.

I feel like I got out just before the used prices take a nose dive.

Anyone seeing anything to confirm or deny this?
It's possible that you have confirmation bias. I suspect Maverick values will be inline with most vehicles now. I wouldn't categorize it as prices plunging, but rather that they were unsustainably high for a while. This is an appropriate correction of their value. Shame on anyone for not doing their due diligence and overpaying on the used market.

I'm not concerned as I generally drive vehicles more than 5 years and have the extended warranty that should help with the first couple sets of CV joints it will chew through until Ford permanently fixes that. 🥴

No doubt the diminishing resale issue is basically statistical regression from an artificial high. As was pointed out earlier in the thread, the mav came on the market with basically no competition in the segment, constrained supply from things like chips, new model hype, very low entry price for the xl hybrid, etc.. All those things contributed to strong demand. Now the pent up demand is being met, constrained supply is unconstrained, etc..

I sold mine because the transmission was getting grabby amd the cv started groaning during sharp turns. Rather than spend time trying to get things fixed and also having do deal with things like replacing tires and brakes, I traded it in since a small SUV suits my needs better than a pickup.

One thing I really hate is having to deal with repairs that I shouldn't need no matter how long the warranty lasts.

The thing is when you click on Maverick on the Ford site it’s still the 24. I’m guessing a lot of people don’t realize they can build and order a 25 yet.
I wondered that myself.

Completely Agree. When I was 25, I realized I'd never purchased an American made car. So, I gave Chrysler and the US economy a boost by buying a new cute 95 Dodge Neon Sport for my new cute wife. Yeah, I'll say no more... except that the 96 Honda Civic EX that quickly replaced it gave us 7 good years up until we donated it to someone.

At this point a 4 door pickup that drives like a car suits us very well. I hope the Maverick doesn't disappoint. So far, my AWD EB has been an absolute pleasure: 33mpg today while driving 75mph in 107degF heat towing a newly built utility trailer on an 80 mile round trip with my wife.

We all saw this with the Bronco then the Bronco Sport, then the Mach-E, then the F-150 Lighting.

This should be a surprise to no one. New introductions always get hyped so prices are inflated but eventually as the product matures demand normalizes and prices start to reflect that.

Ford site will stay this way until 24 book closes. To see and build scroll down to future vehicles click and then find and click on 2025 maverick.

Yeah I know about it. I have a 25 on order but I don't think the general public knows to do that.

Sure. But what do you see when you Google "Ford Maverick", and what is at the following link?

https://www.ford.com/trucks/maverick/

The 2024.
Duh! Google Ford Maverick will return 2024 because more hits have been for that than 2025 Ford Maverick. Search for "2025 Ford Maverick should get 2025 but maybe not if you are the first to search for it. If it doesn't find it it will create a request to rebuild the link table for Ford's website and might find it the next time you search.

Today I visited my dealership and told them that I am waiting for build 2 orders. The trailer tools matter a lot to me.

Yes and No.

The days of being paid more than your bought your Maverick for are gone. It’s why I jumped at the chance to sell my Tremor for $3100 more than I paid for it.

but values will remain high, especially with the price increases. Your resale value should stay good for some time.
