I'll worry about trade in value if im still alive in 20 years.

I never got anything like that mileage, either.Completely Agree. When I was 25, I realized I'd never purchased an American made car. So, I gave Chrysler and the US economy a boost by buying a new cute 95 Dodge Neon Sport for my new cute wife. Yeah, I'll say no more... except that the 96 Honda Civic EX that quickly replaced it gave us 7 good years up until we donated it to someone.
At this point a 4 door pickup that drives like a car suits us very well. I hope the Maverick doesn't disappoint. So far, my AWD EB has been an absolute pleasure: 33mpg today while driving 75mph in 107degF heat towing a newly built utility trailer on an 80 mile round trip with my wife.
All the new models are like that. I just bought a 24 forester specifically because the 25's have a giant abortion of a screen in the middle of the dash. You have to look at a screen to operate it, you can adjust a knob or button by feel.Thisis exactly what killed my intention to order a '25 model.
I paid 39,000 in April for my Lariat but I love it it was fully loaded. What I was shocked about was the XLT was 33,000. I made the right choiceI think a few things are going on.
* Ford has raised the entry level price by a ton so the value equation is off now.
* Economy is bad inflation is high so less people buying new.
* Bunch of Mavericks on Ford lots now. (mostly $38K Lariats)
Yeah I saw that front and was like wtf. That was one of the reasons tha drove me away from the Santa Cruz. Love the tough fascia on the Maverick. Wonder if you can retrofitFord was successful in eliminating orders now for the 2025 Maverick. Jack the prices
and re design a ridiculous front bumper.
Will see how the larger screen holds up with no knobs. Probably why they are holding the 2025's for 4 weeks to test before release. Will see if you will even be able to get a 2025 before January 2025.
Therefore, previous years will do just fine
I've never thought about trade in/resale price ever. I buy the vehicles that work for me. I don't care what it's worth when I'm ready to move on. I keep my vehicles a long time.I'll worry about trade in value if im still alive in 20 years.![]()
IMO there will be a backlash against the big screens replacing knobs and switches. The tesla crowd might love it but an awful lot of people like lower tech. I just bought a forester in part because of the relatively traditional controls (despite having quite a lot of tech) and seriously considered a gen 5 4runner for basically the same reason. No turbo, no giant screens, just reliable basic tech that's been in use and refined for decades.Ford was successful in eliminating orders now for the 2025 Maverick. Jack the prices

That’s wild. My AWD ecoboost gets no better than 18 mpg at 75 mph, towing a 550 lb, 4’ x 8’ utility trailer, with no load and full recommended air pressure in the tires. At 65 mph, I can get 22 mpg. At 55 mph I can get 25 mpg.So far, my AWD EB has been an absolute pleasure: 33mpg today while driving 75mph in 107degF heat towing a newly built utility trailer on an 80 mile round trip with my wife.
This gets at the issue people are overlooking in this thread. We're taught in ECON 101 that price is the point where supply meets demand. All people are talking about is price and demand, nothing about supply (what you're calling "production")....Will be interesting to see if Ford cuts back on production.
