First. This is far from a credible review of the 360 system. I hate it because I hate it and haven’t read the owners manual should not sway you. I asked the same of our community here https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/co-pilot360-question.2096/ and got some really great answers as to why folks ordered it. Suggested reading, and that said…they did not convince me. I will be piloting my Mav all by myself when I get it, so give me a wide berth.

I thought Copilot 360 was a no brainer but from this guy's review has me thinking about cancelling it on my order. 1:40ish in the video. Looking for people's opinions one way or the other? Thanks!

I wouldn't base making a change to your order based on this one person's review, which isn't really a review. It's just his opinion and he really doesn't go into any depth as to why he doesn't like it. The system will work as it is designed to do and that is warn you visually and aurally. It really is a cheap price, pennies on the dollar, when added to overall price of the Mav, yet it can certainly save you damaging your Mav by changing lane with someone in your blind spot or even save a life. If at all possible try testing driving a Maverick and check it out yourself. I got to test drive an XL a while back and one of the things I did was test the some of the 360 features and I was really happy how well they worked, not overly obnoxious, but more subtle, like..."excuse me but there's someone in the other lane", type of notification. Also the lane centering feature was really nice! I had to try it a few times to notice that Maverick was easing itself back into the middle of the lane. Like I said subtle, not smacking you in the face alerts!

Are you going to have one of those "student drive please be patient" stickers? I give those vehicles wide berth! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I will add that if I ever hit the desert just for you mate
Here in Italy all the student drivers have a giant P posted on their back window. Maybe go with that.

Kind of ironic because they all drive like dicks here.

Honestly this tech should be immensely helpful driving here. Awful driving conditions, so any help is appreciated, though this is my first experience with any of that tech, same for my wife, so expect a learning curve. I does make me feel good that if the Mav gets passed down to my daughter in a few years she would also benefit from the safety features.

That video certainly didn't change how I feel about it.

He seems clueless.

Which I guess is why he doesn't like a feature if he has no clue to why it was warning him.

It sounds like someone/something was in his Blind Spot when he tried to change lanes. Or maybe the sensor was blocked.

He rants about not knowing where the sensors are but I guess taking a minute to look up the Blind Spot section in the Maverick Users Manual is somehow a problem for him but ranting about not knowing where they are makes him feel better somehow.

Page 237-238:

The sensors are behind the rear bumper on both sides of your vehicle.

Note: Blocked sensors may affect system accuracy.

Note: Bike and cargo racks could cause false alerts due to obstruction of the sensor.
We recommend switching the feature off when using a bike or cargo rack.

If the sensors become blocked, a message may appear in the information display. The alert indicators remain illuminated but the system does not alert you.
Rant? That's the most polite rant I've ever heard.

Hmmm…….. I might put some of those on mine just so people will stay away from me. 😝

If you're a terrible driver, I can see how an active safety system would indeed be an a annoyance.
Actually I think it would be the opposite. If you’re a terrible driver an active safety system would keep you out of trouble because you sure as heck ain’t doing it yourself.

I'm pretty sure that most of the functions of the copilot 360 can have their sensitivity changed or be straight up turned off in the menus. A minor chore if there are parts one doesn't like.

Simply having it on the truck will lower your insurance rates, whether its enabled or not. It may also increase your resale value, or at least get you a broader customer base if you choose to sell at some point.

I plan on having my Maverick as the truck I'll ride all the way into retirement in another 10 years. I figure I can make the $560 back and then some just in insurance savings.

I would have gotten it anyway, as I want the features it has, especially cross traffic alert when backing out of a parking space.

He didn't like it because it alerted and warned him when he got "too close" to other vehicles at highway speeds, and you are thinking about dropping it because he did not like it. Hmm, what am I missing🤔

Copilot - $500ish (maybe one or two monthly payments)

Preventing a fender-bender - $500+ deductible for insurance

Saving your life or the life of a loved one - priceless

I made sure to get it because I want all the safety options for myself and family who might be driving it. Safety is something that should be taken seriously.
