I received my 2024 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid in December of 2023. The first few months I had no problems with the vehicle. The last three months have been another story altogether. The first issue was the alert saying, "Remote Access disabled to reserve battery". It still would start, but that all changed this past Monday. I go to try and open the truck with the key fob and nothing happens. I use the manual key to open the door. The truck is completely dead. I call Ford Assistance and they send someone out to jump start it. The next day I took it to a local Ford Dealership and they put a new battery in. I drive the truck home and then drive to work the next day. Yesterday (Saturday), I try to open it with the key fob and it is dead again. I call Ford Assistance and they send a guy out. He puts it on the charger and it shows that the battery is putting out zero amps. How can the battery be dead in THREE DAYS? This is ridiculous for a brand new truck! Looks like I will be heading back to the dealership on Monday.

**Update**
My truck was at the dealership for three days and it looks like they fixed the problem. Fingers crossed. They performed a stratification charge on the battery. I asked the Service Manager if this was a problem they had been seeing, but he said no it wasn't. I am attaching the invoice.

I have been monitoring mine very closely. Mine is 5 months old and the Ford app has not worked in over a month. The keyless entry on my passenger door handle has stopped working. Yes, it keeps starting but I keep a jump box close at hand. I put it on a charger yesterday for 5 hours. It got 75% SOC and 12.5v but an hour later it was at 43% SOC and just over 12v just sitting in the driveway. Surprisingly the Ford app was still working this AM but that will change 5 mins after I get to work this morning. I am not even going to let Ford put another POS battery in my truck, I will source my own AGM battery sooner than later.

Hi! Welcome to MTC.

Rechargeable batteries die when they are used and not recharged.
I can only think of:
- Bad battery not taking a charge.
- Electrics (wiring etc.) between HVB and 12v
- BMS issues

I thought a BMS reset needed 8 hours of sitting ... so when the dealer swapped batteries ...
did that happen ? Or maybe a BMS reset wasn't needed.

The battery Ford is putting in the hybrids are crap, they should be require to replace them with something that has more reserve . I have a 2022 hybrid and I charge it at least once a week, never have had a issue with starting. I will be replacing with a new AGM battery after the 3 year warranty is over.

The first night you get the truck back, put it on a battery maintainer overnight. Use the jump points under the hood, not directly to the battery under the seat. After disconnecting the battery maintainer the next day, reset the BMS.

FoMoCo has/is raising Mav prices significantly while deleting features. Has FoMoCo provided upgarded or added AGM batteries in the 2025's?

Regardless, an almost new vehicle should not require a battery tender in order for an owner to drive it. At least not in spring, summer and fall. Report no-start, lock out due to low battey and similar issues to NHTSA.

Thanks for the advice. I will be taking it to the dealer later today.

Ford needs to do something to fix this problem. You shouldn't have to charge it or have to use a jump box. It's a brand new truck!

I agree. I waited for this truck for a year and a half and I am started to regret my purchase. It is totally unreliable.

If the battery was crap wouldn’t we all have issues. I have only put 4800 miles on my 22 over the past few years and the battery is still fine. Has to be another issue like something stuck on that is draining it.

I think you're right. They put a new battery in and then three days later it is dead. It has to be something draining it. I don't have an additional alarm, so I can't think of anything.

Good morning. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this battery concern on my end? Thank you!
