This was the battle I fought with my previous Escape Hybrid. Reports of what to do and how to get it replaced but they refused to multiple times so I gave up. Got rid of it. Sorry - not the answer you wanted. I'm sure someone on this sub will bring you hope eventually. How do I get my new AGM battery? I literally plug my hybrid in when I park every day. Annoying af.
Ford parts website still shows old style even for 2024's. InterestingThis is interesting:
” NHTSA wrote of its decision. “Additionally, Ford has replaced the EFB with an absorbed glass mat (AGM) battery as both a service component for the subject vehicles and as original equipment for Bronco Sport vehicles with production dates beginning in mid-March 2024. The warranty claim rate for peer vehicles equipped with an AGM battery is substantially lower than that for the subject vehicle population
I was mostly being sarcastic in getting the new battery. I just plug it in to keep it as charged up as possible since low charge levels are extremely bad for lead acid. Doesn't take me much time at all. I try to get 6-7 years out of my batteries if I can, since they are so expensive, and keeping them topped off seems to really help their longevity.Crazy. My EFB is still going. I know... I'm as shocked as you are
(notice I didn't say "going strong"... it starts and doesn't die)

It has been posted that someone was trying to to figure out why his hybrid battery box was hotter than he expected (sorry I do not remember how hot or even if post even said). Seems like he was concerned the exhaust or exhaust heat exchanger was too close underneath truck. ??? Possibly heat from charging? I any case possibly if battery gets too warm the BMS may be waiting for 12v to cool down some?"During the course of its investigation, the NHTSA discovered that select 2021-2024 Ford Bronco Sport and 2022-2023 Ford Maverick models equipped with the 12V enhanced flooded battery (EFB) were found to have experienced, on some occasions, an abrupt failure while owners were driving them. This failure stems from an internal corrosion issue that is influenced by exposure to higher underhood temperatures."
This doesn't make sense to me as the EFB in the hybrid Mavericks are under the back seat, which is about as isolated from engine heat as you can get.
Same. I have a 22 and only have 5600 miles on it. Original battery and still going strong. To me that tells me the issue is not with the stock batteries on the vehicles that are having the problems.I don't want to jinx myself here, but I'm at 45K miles with my original battery in my hybrid. I've never charged it or gotten the deep sleep problems. I also have an aftermarket stereo with 5 channel amp, separate DSP, sub and speakers. It sits without being driven from Friday afternoon till Monday morning quite often, but no deep sleep issues. I think the difference is I drive my truck a lot. I picked it up the last day in July of 23, so it definitely gets used...
Anecdote =/= data.Same. I have a 22 and only have 5600 miles on it. Original battery and still going strong. To me that tells me the issue is not with the stock batteries on the vehicles that are having the problems.
I just got a replacement battery and its not AGM as far as I can tell. Its a BXT99RT4-A, and although it has a red label instead of the old blue/white label, nowhere on it does it state AGM. So where are these AGM batteries? From the Ford Authority post today:

Because that was in regards to EcoBoosts.I just got a replacement battery and its not AGM as far as I can tell. Its a BXT99RT4-A, and although it has a red label instead of the old blue/white label, nowhere on it does it state AGM. So where are these AGM batteries?
The replacement shown is BXT99RT4-A THERE ARE TWO VERSIONS the one that came with my 2022 & 2023 hybrids it had 390 CCS and a second one with same "size number" BXT99RT4-A MAX SERIES. It has 470 CCA and is a DEEP CYCLE having much more reserve capacity (I don't remember exactly what). It is on sale at Ford web site for $174.95 through 12/31/24. My dealer warranted my 390cca with the 470cca.Ford parts website still shows old style even for 2024's. Interesting
