I have a 24 XLT hybrid and I'm getting this noise that sounds like two plastic pieces hitting together by the defrost vent I can't seem to make it stop it doesn't do it all the time just on bumpy roads but if anyone knows a fix for this please let me know. It's just kind of annoys the bleep out of me

I have a 2024 Marverick Lariat Hybrid, which I’ve had for three months. I had a similar experience in my old home town. Most of the downtown streets are brick, which have been there for 90 years. When I drove on these streets, it’s like a constant low rubble strip. If there is something loose, you will hear it. That happened a couple of weeks ago. There was a rattle coming from the glove box, right side of the dash area. I removed the items from the glove box, which helped, but not entirely. Since I have returned home, I haven’t noticed the rattle.

Yep, many have it, some don't, I'm one of the lucky ones that has zero squeaks, rattles. Hope I haven't jinxed myself typing that. There's post/threads on this forum from MY22 to current builds on the subject. Do a search with terms like: squeak, rattle, dash, door, etc. and you'll be reading for days. Good Luck, hope you can get it resolved.

My 22 does it, too. Driving me nuts at this point; I'm going to ask the dealer to address it at the next oil change.

What I did ... rattle seemed to be coming from top of the dashboard on the passenger side ... while driving - I asked a passenger to hold/ push in the dashboard on the passenger side ... this diminished the rattle ... I then took the passenger position myself and whacked the dashboard in which seemed to complete the "fall-in-place" part of the assembly that was not done quite properly at the factory ... no more rattles since [HYBRID/ XL].

Our noises in the dash can be related to different things. It could be wiring or a component that wasn't properly secured hitting something. It could be the top of the dash edges hitting something - common on the pasenger side.

In my '22 I believe the rumble came from either the hood over instrument cluster or more likely, the HVAC duct where it attaches to the defog grill/vent at the bottom of the windshield.

Point being, analyze the type of noise and describe it properly if you try to get Ford to repair it.

Yup they all have it and the dealer won't have a clue. If you have a particularly ambitious dealer, he may be okay with ripping the whole dash out but are you okay with that? lol I'm not. Many have had luck with rubber or foam placed between the windshield and dash.

Also, prepare for axle problems. Good 'ol Ford and their cost-cutting.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Use a small flat tip screwdriver and push a strip of screen rubber that holds screen in place. Worked on my '22 Lariat.

I've found the low frequency clunking you hear is from the defrost guide vanes hitting the underside of the dash. That's what it appears to be to me.
