When I drive over certain pavement, I have a slight intermittent rattle on the driver's side, where the dash meets the bottom-left corner of the windshield. If I mash down on that spot, the rattle disappears.

Someone posted on MTC that 5/8" (.625") foam backer rod crammed between the dash & windshield will stop the rattle. I'm going to try that next time I go to Lowe's. If it stops it, the only problem is the foam backer rod may eventually deteriorate if exposed to UV rays very much.

Try rolling up black craft felt. It may last longer than the foam.

I've got a few recommendations for folks. First, it might be the windshield alignment pins if you hear buzzing/squeaking on the passenger side at times. Ford reseated my windshield and that went away.

If you're going over bumps and hearing plastic on plastic tapping, it could be this massive harness that Ford stupidly attached to the center console plastic with just a plastic rivet. It makes noise, so put some felt underneath it.

Carefully pull the plastic towards you from the bottom and the clips will unsnap.

Could you post a zoomed out photo, I can not determine where you are referring to. Thanks!

I hope this works for you but a word of warning. I tried the backer rod with no improvement. The warning is I removed the backer rod after about a week and it pulled up some type of lining or seal that was already between the windshield and dash. It’s like the backer rod melded with it. It looked terrible and that caused another trip to the dealer. They had to remove the dash to fix it (another four days in the shop). They did it under warranty but the rattle was still there. The only consistent fix I have read in the many forums about this is the rattle goes away when the windshield is replaced.

did my wife's plastic hairclip make it into your passenger side door too?

jk - but really, for like a week I was wondering what an annoying rattling was coming from the passenger side....and of course, it was a plastic hair clip hidden in the door storage.

My speaker covers rattle as they warp and change shape throughout the year. No joke. Sometimes they are flush and other times the shape warps and they are uneven. The plastic in this vehicle is one of my biggest complaints.

Thank you for the warning!

Same. My two week old Hybrid has started the dash rattle and it’s driving me crazy.
If anyone knows the source and how to get to it, please let me know!
Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

The speaker grilles are tied into the A pillar mouldings as well as having 4 clips holding them to the dash. This sucks when doing dash speaker swaps and likely contributes to the creaking.

Let us all know!!!
basically they took my info and said I need to go to the dealership. In all fairness I told them another issue I’m having is my priority at the moment so maybe if the conversation was just about the dash rattle it would have been different.
