I currently own a 2023 XLT hybrid and as soon as I got it after having two others waiting on this one, I decided to upgrade the front speakers and tweeters. It has made a world of difference and I have really enjoyed the sound I am getting ready to order the 2025 lariat that comes with the BNO stereo my concern is that those speakers are equal to the quality in the XLT and the likelihood that I would want to upgrade them like I did on my XLT . Does anyone have any input on this and or have any experience? for a short period one of the other Mavericks I owned was a BNO stereo and a lariat and I didn't think it was that bad but I'm 53 years old and not really into rock out real hard in the car like some of these younger fellas do. However, I do like Good sound and decent bass.

I have a 24 lariat tremor and I think stereo sounds good. I'm 62 so you'll have to take that into account but if I crank up Zeppelin or Black Sabbath I think it sounds good

I'm very please with my B&O system as is from the factory but sound, colors and lots of other things are subjective and can vary from one individual to another. Over the years there's been lots of post/threads on this forum about speaker and audio system upgrades. Do a search on speakers, etc and you'll probably find lots of information.

B&O system here - very new to me, but I like the sound overall. I did find that turning the fader just a notch or two towards the rear really helped the sound - that center front speaker is a little "forward" sounding, but balancing it the way I did helps a lot.

There's probably a half an octave of the lower-frequency, deeper bass that would be to my liking, but that isn't a deal killer - and its something that can be added some time later. There is a 6X9 inch subwoofer behind the rear seat, with a unique enclosure design (i think it's called "infinite baffle", been a while since I dabbled in the audio world) that works well, but it naturally can't go as deep and low as a larger woofer.

I have read that people have had success with swapping out the front door speakers and dash-mounted tweeters with very good results. I'm reading up on it, but not sure if I'll take that plunge or not.

I'm 44 and while still under 50 not exactly a youngster so get off my lawn. That being said I love the BnO system I have and the only thing I want sometimes is to be able to make it a little louder and define some sounds a little more. The bass can really thump if you want it to though and there have been some songs I was surprised to hear parts I'd never heard before. For now it does what I want and I may look to upgrade even more down the line.

I have a 2024 lariat Fx4 with the B&O and it's just fine for these 50 Year olds ears as far as the 2025 it's anybody's guess what that will sound like because no one besides the test drivers have heard it yet.

The B&O system in my ‘24 Lariat is far better than the Bose in my ‘23 Civic Si. I think it sounds great for this price point.

I have a 2023 Lariat Hybrid with the B&O speakers. At 60 yo, I've cranked up some Boston, Judas Priest, Five Finger, etc. and it sounds good! Never crossed my mind to replace any of the sound system.

the b&o front speakers are better than the base system, but it's the amp that makes a huge difference. the tweeters are fair but the 6.5 are subpar and you'll notice a huge difference upgrading them. the rear speakers are junk and just fade them low or out, especially if anyone sits in the back and you want to turn it up louder than 15 or so.

bunch of threads about upgrading the b&o. adding a subwoofer is a massive improvement.

I've had the opportunity in the past month to compare the '24 Maverick Lariat B&O system to a stock '24 Rav4 / Corolla Cross system and my own ($$$$ expensive) aftermarket system. The Maverick B&O was definitely the least capable of the three audio systems by a fair margin.

That said... it's not BAD. But it only rises to the level of "decent." Some of the enjoyment of the audio was impaired by excessive rattles from the interior during bassy passages. The BALANCE of the system verges on bad, as the center speaker really throws the soundstage and separation off. I really think the system would be better off without it... what channel is the center supposed to represent if you aren't playing 5.1 audio? You've just thrown a monorail speaker in there, welcome to the 1970s... just wait here and I'll get you your 8-track. The speakers all together don't especially compliment each other, which is disappointing for a "premium" sound system. The advice to diminish the rears and upgrade the fronts and tweeters sounds solid.

So would you replace the existing sub with a real
One and where would it go?
I wasn't looking forward to upgrading the front b and o speakers and tweeters as I did on my XLT but it was worth it in the XLT so the same would be said for the Lariat. What about a center upgrade?

I have done all the above, yes. My posts about the front speakers are scattered all over, but the subwoofer and amp are here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/adding-8-sub-amp-to-b-o.21543/

I would probably not build my own again. I think either Groundshaker on the cheap, or Sound Decisions, if you want a better looking and performing enclosure, are easier and look better because of the top fit. (Bunch of threads on each of these options for pre-built enclosures, just search.)

I have Focal RSE-165 components in the front. I installed the door speakers about a month or two before I made time to swap the tweeters. B&O has separate wiring, channels and electronic crossovers for the mid and tweeter, so you don't need to use a passive crossover that comes with (almost) all component sets. The difference in midbass (40-150hz) is massive. Vocals sound a lot better, also, but you'll notice the bass first especially if you are only using the factory 6x9 'sub'.

I think someone commented about the center being overpowered and I agree. I installed a Kenwood KFC X3 coaxial center and a resistor to reduce output. They're sold in pairs, and I have long since sold my other one, but you can see pics and a few comments here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/kenwood-kfc-x3-b-o-center-channel-upgrade.37274/

I highly recommend sound deadening the doors when you install the 6.5s, and also a sub. It makes a huge difference. Many threads on it here, some good pics.

I'm 54 and crank the shit out of my radio on my '23 Lariat. Of course I turn it down when I back up :) I like to have good sounding system (at least to my old ears). I installed a DSP and amp on my F-150 and tweaked that to my liking. Would like to do the same for my MAV eventually.

I wish FORD would put an good EQ into their Sync systems.

If I'm not listening to SiriusXM and streaming from my phone. I use AIMP player with PowerAMP EQ app to tweak my sound to my liking. In the PowerAMP EQ app (or the stand alone PowerAMP player app) you can assign specific eq to each component that is connected via bluetooth.

I would really like to find the Frequency repsonse chart for the factory speakers. I haven't run Room EQ to find the frequency of the speakers because I'm lazy.

For the most part you can get an EQ preset for a load of headsets from here https://autoeq.app/ (they also presets in PowerAMP).

I also use EqualizerAPO GraphicEq along with PEACE GUI on my computers.
