Has anybody here owned an EcoBoost engine for +- 100,000 miles?

Have had plenty of 2.0 Edges in our work fleet go well over 100k, never had any engine issues related to dirty valves. Transmissions have been a different story, don't believe the "lifetime/150k" mile trans fluid story.

Have a 2014 Escape with 2.0L with 156,000 miles on it. Still running with minimal repairs. Always followed maintenance schedule. Now I have a Maverick and a Bronco Sport. Both with updated 2.0L engines. Hopefully they will last just as long!!!

My wifes 2016 fusion 1.5 eb had 227k miles on it before the transmission died. My 2012 F-150 3.5eb had 114k miles before trading it in on a 2016 3.5 eb. Both motors were issue free.

I traded in my 2013 Fusion with the Valencia 2.0 EB with 146k on it for a 2023 Hybrid Mav. I never had it over 140mph on the highway. The current 2.0 turbo redesign gets a bit better low-end torque than the single-stage turbo that I had, at the expense of the high-end. It had synthetic 10W30 oil and top-tier fuel for its whole life, with none of these supposed carboning-up issues. You should note that the carboning-up videos all show poorly-maintained 2010 Focus RS race-only engines, and not real-world stuff. The only issue that I ever had was a recurring warm-engine stall for 3 years that the dealer could not reproduce ever. The fix was to finally force them to change the defective $230 high-pressure fuel rail sensor. The plugs were changed at 120k and the tires at 100k. It was a great engine in a good car, with the exception of the defective sensor. The fuel mileage was great on the highway, but in town sucked, at 38/25mpg. I think that it is critical to use the proper top-tier fuel and synthetic oil unless you plan on dumping it in 3 years. And to ignore the people who can't feed or maintain their vehicle properly and then complain about carbon issues.

Not necessarily in a Maverick of course. I'm asking because I'm curious about your experience. You browse the Web and you hit on all these stories about how EcoBoost engines dirty up the valves, etc. How they won't last. It's the Web. You don't know what to believe. So I'm just wondering if anybody has personal anecdotes to share.

I have an old anemic 4 cylinder Ford engine, normally aspirated - not particularly working all that hard. It's at 102,000 miles without incident and plugging along happily. Just wondering what I can look forward to with my EcoBoost, should I ever receive it.
I have. The hated 1.5 EB in an escape. Other than the known head issues, it was GREAT

I had a 2012 F150 with 3.5L Eco. Around 175,000 miles I finally started to get the infamous rattle at start up which was common on the those very early 3.5. I had been on the road and wasn't keeping up with the service as best as I should.

Next got a 2016 F150 with 2.7L Eco. Great engine. Sold it with 185K miles to get my Mav. That engine did start to weep around the oil pan (a somewhat common issue with that first gen) and around the driver side turbo. Not enough for me to add oil between scheduled maintenance, but would need replacing. Never got around to replacing the oil pan as my mechanic could never get the part from Ford due to national backorder.

I wouldn't hesitate going with an Ecoboost engine. I would make sure to, at the very least, stick to the serviced oil changes according to your driving habits. Maybe even slightly ahead of it.

cam phaser issue still happens on various V6 ecoboost. I'm not sure if it's a design flaw or what.

The wife has a ‘17 Escape SE with the 1.5 currently hovering around 150k miles, but that’s after having the long block replaced at 111k due to catastrophic engine failure due to coolant intrusion into the cylinders at highway speeds. It was $10k for a new motor and turbo to be installed by Ford. Had it happened one month earlier we would have been covered by a Customer Satisfaction Program that covered new motors. She loves the things, so we opted for a motor replacement. Otherwise it has had nothing but regular maintenance needed.

Up until about ten days ago,
I was driving a ‘21 Ranger with the 2.3. Most of the issues I encountered with that were transmission and driveline related. Though, the bucking and surging I speculate was caused by a faulty DPFE sensor. I had enough and traded it in and went back to a Honda.

So, is it the worst motor I’ve had in a vehicle? No. That honor goes to a 1994 Audi 90S I owned years ago. Would I consider other options before an EcoBoost? Yes.

Keep in mind there are millions of these things on the road and there are probably a fair amount that have hundreds of thousands of miles on them. You just don’t hear about them because they’re not going to post to a forum that ‘all is well.’ 🤷‍♂️

I have a 22 Maverick xlt awd tow package and the off road package which is funny considering how low the truck sits. But anyways I am at 152,000 miles With no engine issues . It seems ive lost some power .but i have never cleaned the intake valves. I have changed the oil transmission fluid regularly and all other fluids as well.
