Does anyone know for sure, if the factory keypad for 2025 is a wired keypad, (like in the '22, and '23 models), or is it the battery powered "stick on" unit they said to buy from the dealers for 2024?

If you think about.. for FORD its a lot of work..
Body panel needs the hole stamped...
Installing the wire harness... thats partway up the rear pillar... (labor $$$)

Sticking the unit to the paint...and having it replaced when the batteries die... $$$ ;)

Anyone know the average lifespan of the batteries? This kind of defeats the purpose if I can't lock the keys in the the vehicle intentionally with full faith that the door code will work

I would guess it would vary depending on amount used, environment (cold/heat) that affects batteries. My guess is probably 5 years, who knows. Sad that Ford changed from the wired version to the stick on version and not even body color matched, just black. The wired are way better imo. I've had the wired version on a bunch of Fords I've owned since the early 80's, never had a problem with them, my 2011 F150 keypad works like new. They say the batteries are not replaceable but I've seen on the internet where people have taken them apart and replace the batteries but the internals could have changed where you cant now, who knows.

Does anyone know the right part number for the 2024 model keypad? ... is it the same for the 2025 model?

Is there any dependency between the part number and specific trims? or is the part number universal for all and trims?.

For the accessory keypad?

Ford accessory site lists 2 key pads, one for vehicles w/ factory remote start and one for those w/out factory remote start.
They fit many vehicles...but not 2025 is not listed yet.

I think that it will most likely be the same for 2025s, but don't know for sure yet.

Another strange thing is if you do a build and price on a new Ranger and select the keypad option it shows as being body color instead of just black

I have owned 3 Ford's. Must say not a big Ford fan
However I have found that keypad to be a great accessory. To bad they got rid of a great perk
And no the stick on is not the same.

I wouldn't mind the wireless if the battery were replaceable. But if I understand it right, when the battery dies, you have to buy a new one, cut/peel off old key pad, and install the new one because you can't replace the battery. If true, who's (not so) bright idea was that?!? That's a big no for me. If the battery were replaceable I'd definitely get one.

I have a coworker who has a stick on on his super duty and it's been replaced once in the last 20 years I think.
