Viofo A139 Pro on Ford Maverick
Viofo A229 Plus on Mazda CX-90
The Viofo A139 Pro 2ch and Viofo A229 Pro 2ch are both great cameras and I have had them both in my Maverick. I recently upgraded to the A229 Pro 2ch and love it. 4K front, 2K rear, and great parking mode options. I paired the A229 with a PowerCell 8 dash Cam battery pack and I couldn't ask for a better setup. I get about 24 hours of continuous parking mode and it doesn't drain from my truck's battery at all. Blackboxmycar.com has great info on different cams. The Viofo seem to be the only reasonably priced manufacturer with the new Sony STARVIS 2.0 and HDR. A few others have the same Sony sensor, but they don't have HDR, which is king at night. Even the expensive Thinkware U3000 4K UHD doesn't have HDR.

I have the Kingslim D4. It was pretty cheap on Amazon, but works well for me. It's front and back. Does 4k, but I only use 2k and it's crystal clear for me.

I have one called Akaso Elite from Amazon. Record at 2.7k, pretty smooth. Records in 15 minute intervals continuously. About $100. I have my sitting on the dash storage with a mount. I delete the videos from the memory card when I pull into a parking spot. Have it plugged into the USB. There is a drive mode option that starts when you turn on the truck, but I think the video would only continuously record at 5 minutes. I have it set up where I just click the record button. There are also free apps you can use for your phone, just need an appropriate mount. I may put a camera to record from the back window as well

I use the Wolfbox i07

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09YYXM2BJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I tried 3 different cameras like the Vantrue N2 which It lacks a bunch of stuff

also, a redtiger which is good but it was not that good

The wolfbox is very easy to install. I just bought a longer type c cord to run it and make it look clean. I will upload pictures later

I have this installed on my window. I didn't want anything blocking my view

I do ridesharing so I have a lot of stuff plugged in my USB . So forgive me for this

Whatever you get, be aware that I had to pay for my BCM replacement due to not unplugging it from BCM when they performed the recall which required a new BCM flash.

redtiger worked good enough for me. I just plugged it into the usb adapter (cigarette lighter) since i don't like things permanently attached and want to easily remove when I drop off for service or am not using the car for a couple weeks

Red Tiger Dashcam.
Have one in both vehicles. One is touch screen.
The major caution (WARNING) is that they report back to China, both the app and the computer program. You can defeat the report back on the app, by not having cell data active when viewing the camera on the app. The computer, just do not use their program that they embed on the memory card when you format it. You must download a free video format update for Windows to view the video in native Windows (without using their app.) Their app will trigger Norton 360 warnings for the reporting back to China.

Suction mount front camera with GPS.
Cabled rear camera with tape mount for rear window.
Excellent resolution, both front and rear.
Long power and rear camera cables
Sufficient to have excess to run power in the roof to the door, under the dash to the power point (and coil up the excess), and around the vehicle under the paneling to get to the rear for the rear camera. Comes with cable installation accessories for getting under the paneling.
Automatic time (since it has its own GPS)
Records lat/lon, speed, and time on the video.
Audio on/off option (several notes go with this. Check legal requirements for recording individuals in your state. However, If you turn audio off - it cannot be used as evidence that you actually did have your turn signals on! The ticket for failure to signal would have been more than the cost of dashcam, but I beat it - you could hear them.)
Extensive setup options.
Has a parking kit option with motion detection.
Only gets a 5 out of 10 for simplicity of changing the setup once in the vehicle.

Recommend having your 2024 Maverick Hybrid BCM POWER POINT TIMEOUT parameter changed - using ForScan - to 300 seconds (?) which actually results in a 15 minute time out.

The issue is that a particular "brand" of dashcam is on the market for a short time and then disappears. Or, it morphs into another model. I bought Uniden for a number of vehicles and they work great. One saved my insurance history after an accident. But now, a year or two later, they don't exist. The only exception is Garmin.

I just put the below model in my Maverick and am happy with it. Having also had a high-priced Garmin, I am not sure if the lower priced alternative, with their features, aren't a better choice.

I bought the Garmin mini 2 for the same reason. So many choices, I figured I would go with a known brand. I have used their GPS devices for years.
The model you got from Amazon does look good. Is there an app with it or is everything done on the unit itself?

I'm surprised you had to pay for the BCM out of pocket. Wouldn't it be covered under warranty? Maybe I didn't understand what you said.
