yep, caught it before the bearing failed, lucky

see a lot of hybrid fails and leaking boots but you win the ugly boot contest.

Wow, you got warranty on a lifted axle? That should specifically exclude any warranty claims.
Local dealer installed the springs- I wonder if a Spring lift is just less noticeable than a level/kit etc to techs and such ?

Ok, that makes sense now. The local dealer modification lifted the truck and increased the CV-joint angles, so its the dealer's problem and they are replacing the halfshafts on their nickel, not Ford doing a warranty replacement.

No- Dealers out here are not really into finding ways to deny warranty maybe where you are located though not sure.

Not dealers as they get paid for warranty work but Ford corporate is into finding ways to deny warranty claims I'm sure.

It's been documented quite a few times here that the supplied OEM half shafts are not a good match for the Maverick platform, I would totally be into purchasing upgraded units if they ever become available -

to the best of my memory there are 3 different half shafts installed on Mavericks.
Hybrid, EB and Tremor. In your case Tremor shafts are an upgrade, sweet talk the dealer.

I know about the Tremor half shafts but have not seen a specific example in which they have been retrofitted to a Non/Tremor model -

All kidding aside your CV axle bearings didn't fail internally, just the boot close to the tire/wheel and rocks. Either the boot failed from a defect in materials or from debris.

Out of warranty a boot replacement would be in order. Every auto parts out there sells them for $30ish. Even Ford sells them for the low low price of $55.

Yep I remember the days of split/boot n grease replacement sets. Fun times. Glad the dealer is handling this after my weekend of fault codes, trailer hitch and ball problems and a new generator that decided to take the weekend off during our camping trip.

Those old days lol. I know wheelers who carry a spare split boot and a spray can of brake cleaner for just such a predicament. Only ones immune are the solid front axle guys.
