that percentage wasn't in the OP and since I don't have a hybrid, I didn't go looking for it. to me that rate is disingenuous because it extrapolates to only twenty-one vehicles in this condition.Ford's own numbers in the NHTSA filing estimated a rate of occurrence of 0.17 per 1000 vehicles.

I can't rationalize how that could be true on a campaign of this scale, although when I search MTC for these DTC codes, I get nothing except this thread. some 2.5 engines have failed, even beyond ones that had the oil cap removed and driven up a steep mountain road, but it's a little surprising that no one has posted about this code in the past (almost) 3 years of Mavericks on the road.
Is this the root cause of the engine failures that generated Maverick hybrid TSBs to drill holes in the engine bellypans and now produce them with drain holes pre-cut? If so, again, why has no one posted with these codes? This is very strange.
