Anyone else getting grief over the Maverick?

Ford's research showed the Maverick would meet the needs of 90 plus percent of pick-up buyers.

They also saw Ranger sales tapering off awhile back, and didn't sell many Explorer Tracs, so they were thinking the Maverick might not sell well. They were obviously surprised from the outset.

@ SCOTTY KILMER . Check out his Maverick/ Ford killer videos. nearly a year ago. and we are still waiting on a worthy competitor to the Maverick. Trust me if Toyota releases a compact truck it will be EXPENSIVE

I've watched a fair bit of Scotty Kilmer video's and he seems to over generalize negative aspects of certain brands and engine types (especially with his click bait titles). He'll then get one of these vehicles from, I assume one of his viewers to do a quick review & test drive and he talks it up and seems to want one. Seems to be a little contradictory from his generalization & actual reviews.

Streetlooks are all that matter. There are a bunch of Mavericks in my area now. Spoke to many and let one "test" drive my hybrid waiting for theirs to be built.

Is life that serious? Sorry to blow your mind, but everyone on TV is a paid actor including Youtube. He's entertainment and quite good at it, IMO. Check in for a smile once in a while.

Other than the '69 Camaro I had, it gets the most positive attention. Men, women, young, older, everyone. There are about 6 or 7 Mavericks in my little home town at this point.

We also live in "real" truck country where one would expect to get the most flak.

Kilmer is one of the worst automotive content "producers" on the Internet. His entire shtick is hot takes and rage-bait.

I've posted a few pics of my new Maverick in different posts on Facebook. Almost every time someone will comment on how bad of a vehicle it is, it's garbage, waste of money, blah blah blah. Tesla gets lots of hate too but why the hate on a Maverick lol? It doesn't really bother me but just curious if anyone else hears this BS.

I'm seeing more and more of them on my commutes in metro Detroit, but I've never gotten any negative commentary in person or online...and wouldn't give a **** even if I did.

I had one Assaholic park his oversize truck so close to mine I had to get in from the passenger side. When he was a child, his parents forgot to teach him how to wipe himself.................

So true. Keeps happening to me.

I park away from everyone to not get door dings and the guys with 4wd with lift kits keep parking as close as they can. I am guessing they get out and take pictures of the size difference as they have a small pe_is but a big truck to make them feel like they are special. It is hilarious how it keeps happening....

I've never gotten a negative comment -- just maybe 10 or so "How do you like you Maverick" conversation starters.

The one time the was even the slightest slight was made by me myself. I was at a campground with my little teardrop trailer and this guy with a F250 Diesel Crew Cab and probably 30 foot trailer pulled into the site next to ours. We just looked at each other and I said "That's what my rig hopes to be when it grows up."
