I've posted a few pics of my new Maverick in different posts on Facebook. Almost every time someone will comment on how bad of a vehicle it is, it's garbage, waste of money, blah blah blah. Tesla gets lots of hate too but why the hate on a Maverick lol? It doesn't really bother me but just curious if anyone else hears this BS.

I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from family, friends and even strangers. Most of them still ask me what make it is to boot and guess Ranger or even F150. Lol

They hate us cause they aint us.

I just bought an off grid cabin. The maverick is totally capable of bringing what i need back and forth. Generator, garbage, gas cans, food and water. The fuel economy helps the 100ish km round trip its not breaking the bank going to town.

I mean you could do it with an escape as well (even a honda fit), but I will breathe easier with the garbage, propane and gas cans outside of the cabin.

The first week I had mine I had walked out of fedex and there was a hick in a clapped out Chevy staring me down and he pulls up next to me and starts telling me I look like some kind of " fu**ing English aristocrat c**t" and that I "better not be on the wrong side of the fence". Never seen this guy in my life before this moment and had just barely walked out of the building and got to my car. Not sure what he meant by that, but I politely gave him the bird and drove off lol.

You missed the chance to ask him if he had any Grey Poupon on him.

With the lowered Mav and a couple more eclectic cars I have the bases almost covered for pissing off rednecks. Sphincter says.... what?

Some folks don't like a manufacturer, only they know why. Others think if the truck isn't 3/4 ton or larger with 4-wheel drive and a winch on the front, it isn't a real truck.
I agree the Maverick is a small truck designed for folks who want cab comfort and don't carry or pull heavy loads. Ford's research showed the Maverick would meet the needs of 90 plus percent of pick-up buyers.
I love the high mpg, ease parking, and comfortable ride. When friends tease me, I tell them my Maverick is perfect for someone who thinks they need a truck!
For me, the Maverick was a great buy. My only complain was Ford taking 6 months to accpt my order and another 289 days to deliver.

I haven't really encountered any really negative (unsolicited) feedback, but I do anticipate some minor teasing when my brother sees it in person (He is a long haul truck driver and he and his son's drive Dodge and Chev fuel guzzlers). I have received a few very positive comments. The latest being at a McDonalds drive thru. I noticed this young guy (probably late 20's, early 30's) standing on the corner of the exit of the drive thru (I assume he was waiting for a ride). I saw him rubber neck the truck as I drove passed to go around the building. After paying I was exiting back into the parking lot and he was still there (my window was still down), as I passed him he said "Wow, that's a great looking truck!", I thanked him... - it made my day!

People don't like it when someone else's superior life choices makes them second guess their own. People who paid 60 grand to get a Tacoma with half the fuel economy of a maverick hybrid have egg on their face when they see what the maverick offers in terms of value and versatility. But because most people don't want to admit they were wrong, or made a bad purchase, they lash out, and attack the product. Trying to justify in their mind that that product is inferior, and terrible.

It's very similar to how a lot of highly political and religious people attack other political and religious beliefs, and look down on people who are different. They don't want to believe people can be just as happy, if not happier by supporting different groups, or lifestyles, because then it makes them second guess their own choices in life.

The only "grief" I ever got so far was from a couple guys in a jacked up Chevy at a red light. I had the windows down and the driver of the Chevy made a comment about "what a cute little vehicle I have".
I just looked over and made a comment about not needing to compensate for other issues.

The guy in the passengers side was laughing hysterically and the light changed so....

I look at it this way...
I can pull 4000lbs, haul 2000, and with a fully loaded bed (vacation traveling) get 35-38 MPG.
I claim winner status.

I get it too, they are idiots and don't own one and have no idea what they are talking about, I had an argument at work Friday, about the horrors of an eco-boost engine? Just remember, who's the idiot, the idiot or the one who argues with an idiot. We know what we have!!!!!

I really does make me laugh when people attack Ecoboost, or Ford hybrids, considering Ecoboost's are often viewed as some of, if not the most reliable series of turbocharged gas engines on the market, and Ford hybrids are basically as reliable as it gets.

No negative or positive feedback. Not from people I know or the general public. I don't really expect any feedback, Maverick are everywhere it's a Ford not a Ferrari so it's not going to attract attention.
I'm not posting on facebook or any other social media, so maybe that explains the reactions you receive.
