Anyone else getting grief over the Maverick?

I've posted a few pics of my new Maverick in different posts on Facebook. Almost every time someone will comment on how bad of a vehicle it is, it's garbage, waste of money, blah blah blah. Tesla gets lots of hate too but why the hate on a Maverick lol? It doesn't really bother me but just curious if anyone else hears this BS.

I think honestly it stems from people hating on FORD for the past decade I think, specifically in the USA. I still have my Ford Focus ST and I have received so much hate in the span of owning the vehicle for 10 years. People labeled it as a "Boy Racer' car, people always said it was "slow" and the exhaust sounds "bad". I always thought of the Focus ST as a 6 speed hot hatch that's fun around turns. Its reputation in Europe is much better than the USA, because they like racing on tracks with turns not just Drag Strips.

But all that is beside the point. The Maverick is one of the best new vehicles you can get for the Price. I think the hate is unwarranted and comes from people being uninformed or ignorant.

I haven't really encountered any really negative (unsolicited) feedback, but I do anticipate some minor teasing when my brother sees it in person (He is a long haul truck driver and he and his son's drive Dodge and Chev fuel guzzlers). I have received a few very positive comments. The latest being at a McDonalds drive thru. I noticed this young guy (probably late 20's, early 30's) standing on the corner of the exit of the drive thru (I assume he was waiting for a ride). I saw him rubber neck the truck as I drove passed to go around the building. After paying I was exiting back into the parking lot and he was still there (my window was still down), as I passed him he said "Wow, that's a great looking truck!", I thanked him... - it made my day!

This is one of those type of threads that I enjoy reading and participating in. As for X is the spot, tweaker, twitfits, Fake-a-book, flashbulb, Ripoff list, and all the other "clickbate" sites, I could careless. The funniest thing that has happened to me is when I was at my UPS P.O. box to deliver a large, heavy package for my daughter. Two spaces down from where I parked was another Maverick. The guy was staring at me.

Usually, if my daughter is with me and a guy is staring at me, it is for another reason (race related, but I won't go into it here, most don't believe she is my daughter..........am I that ugly?) so I ignored him. After my daughter and I dropped off the package and returned to my truck, the guy was still there and he said, "Having any problems with your Maverick yet?". At that time, the only thing I had was the "sleep" issue and told him that was it. He responded, well, your problems have just begun and started going through this laundry list of issues his truck has given him.

I politely told him I wish him the best and was trying to leave and he kept asking me if I really haven't had any of the problems he has had and I told him that is correct. I told him he may have gotten a bad truck that will need all the issues resolved and wished him the best.

The most looks and questions I get is at the gas station. Imagine that!! First question is what is my mpg. When I tell them they don't believe it. Then they always are fascinated by all the features that came with my Maverick.

The big truck drivers are the funny ones. Especially when driving down the road. They always have to floor it from a stop light, letting everyone hear the "roar" of the 5.0 V-8!! Whatever!!!!

Here's my advice. Don't post on FB. Plain and simple. There's a lot of crybabies on there and a lot of non-Maverick owners that are there to bash this fantastic truck. I found that out myself, and stopped posting on FB. I deleted all of the Maverick pages on FB, then decided to just delete FB entirely. Life is so much better w/o it!

Smart! Most of the posts on Facebook are generally attempts at giving the impression that they have a perfect family/personal life. Usually is far from the actual case.

After reading your post I thought about all of those posts I used to see about “Maverick Killer,” they would talk about a new small Toyota or GM or Ram coming out “next year” that would destroy Maverick sales. Well it’s next year and Mavericks seem to be selling pretty well. I pass them all the time!! I‘d call all the online Maverick negativity as simply click bait.

Click bait also includes YouTube with idiots making claims that Toyota is coming out with a smaller truck, then using PhotoShop with the Maverick clearly as the truck with photoshopped parts with a Toyota front grill. You can clearly tell the body is a Maverick. These are the idiots that start rumors without any factual basis, and that’s why I call them idiots.

@ SCOTTY KILMER . Check out his Maverick/ Ford killer videos. nearly a year ago. and we are still waiting on a worthy competitor to the Maverick. Trust me if Toyota releases a compact truck it will be EXPENSIVE

IRL I'm surrounded by people who love high gas mileage, "Midwest nice," and old Ford Rangers and Chevy S10s that are around the same size. All positive interactions so far, mostly "That's a great color" and "You get HOW many miles per gallon?!"

those are likely disgruntled, Santa Cruz owners who have to look at that piece of crap they’re driving and have other people laugh at how it looks like a little turd on the highway. Don’t let it bother you …..for all you know they might own a Kia soul as well or maybe a Pontiac Aztec we have the best new little truck created in the last 50 years enjoy it

Why post anything on Facebook at all? It’s The Fellowship of the Miserable. If they aren’t posting “look at me!” “Look at my wonderful life” they are bashing yours because theirs isn’t as wonderful as they want you to believe.

Well for starters Facebook is pretty much just pure evil. Those same people are here in this forum as well. I can see the hybrid hate here too.
