Welp it happened. Uninsured motorist tried to pull off a u-turn across a highway without looking first. I took off his front end with my passenger side headlight and wound up rolling the truck into the dunes next to the road.

Truck kept me safe, able to walk away with nothing but some bruises.

Planning on replacing this rig with a new one, jury's out if I'll stick with the hybrid or swap to the AWD. Sad the color isn't available anymore though.

Fortunately, you were able to walk away, too many people don't.
I don't know why it is some people think they can get away without having insurance; it's those very people who often need it the most.
It's a shame that more isn't done to get these people off the road since they don't want to be responsible motorists.

Glad your ok. I brought my area 51 in for service. The service writer said he don't see many Mavs in that color. I told him it was the most popular color. But that Alto Blue is nice.

Thanks for the tip. Gives me some time to fight with insurance and put me in wait and see mode. An eruption green replacement would *almost* make this all worth it.

Go for 'replacement cost' vs. 'cash value' from the other driver's insurance, if you can.
Glad you are OK and that the truck did it's job.

Wow, that you walked away mostly unhurt is amazing. I'd play the lottery today if I was you. Glad you're OK after this.

I have a personal theory that insurance should be part of buying gasoline. Every gallon you put in the truck, a bit of tax goes to a global insurance pool negotiated by the state. Then there is no such thing as an uninsured motorist.

Of course, BEVs will upset that plan.
