As a follow-up to my previous post (https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/removed-my-lasfit-backup-and-turn-signals.44210/), my LASFit bulbs failed again. This was my second pair, sent by LASFit as a replacement because the first set also failed. I've had my 2023 XLT Hybrid since June 2023, and both pairs have failed in this short time. LED bulbs should not be failing this early, raising concerns about LASFit's quality control.

I also had my recalls addressed today at my home with the Ford dealer Mobile Service, but the bulbs still didn't work after the updates. The service technician suggested I follow up with them because other users are also experiencing issues with LED bulbs, and identifying unreliable brands would be helpful. I replaced the LASFit bulbs with the original incandescent ones, and they worked perfectly. Given the repeated failures, I’m reconsidering using LEDs.

I've emailed @LASFIT with a video as they requested and am waiting for their response. Changing these bulbs twice, considering their cost and that they were the latest version, is frustrating and undermines my confidence in LASFit. While my switchbacks, reverse lights, and cargo/brake bulbs from LASFit are working fine, the turn signals are problematic. LASFit needs to improve their quality control to ensure these bulbs last as expected. I almost want a refund, but I bought them off Amazon and then when those failed, LASFit sent me the new ones. The side of the bulb that failed was the brake light, the running light still works for both sides. Last thing I need is to get hit due to faulty LEDs.

Below are a photo and video.

I had some incandescents in my old F-150 last over 20 years. I don't get all the panic to jump on the LED bandwagon. On that old truck I had a license plate light fail and replaced it with an LED. Brand name Sylvania. It didn't last year before it failed. I went back to incandescent.

The primary issue with aftermarket LED setups is heat, and the inability to dissipate it. People think of LED's as being cold, but that is not true. While they don't heat the housing like an incandescent, the do heat up the entire bulb package itself. That is part of the reason many manufactures have gone with specific setups to allow for correct cooling, rather than replaceable bulbs for the OEM setup. This is true of the OEM LED headlights for the Maverick for example.

I have first generation Lasfit bulbs and they seem fine, after 1 1/2 years. Would I buy them again? For the tail lights yes, the difference between the turn signal and the brakes is more pronounced than with the OEM incandescent bulbs.

WHY should you have to send them a video??? They should immediately send you out a replacement set and issue a shipping tag to return the defective ones.

LEDs - house yes, Maverick nope.

I have a LED flash light you could use as a hand warmer 🙂

Might be just bad luck getting a LED light with problems. Probably they will send you a new pair.
One of mine LASFIT break / tail light failed after 6 months.
I contact the customer service with my order number and they sent me a new pair of the new version right away, no questions asked. All the other LED lights are working fine so far.
I still have to go for the recall... let's see what happens!

LASFIT bulbs have a one year guarantee. This I know because I’ve had to use it a couple times.

Correct!(y)
I just hope that I won't need to use the warranty again. 🤞

LEDs automobile lighting that is integrated by the OEM works well because the housings and reflectors are designed for them, electrically, thermally, and in the case of headlights, optically.

Aftermarket solutions are often problematic, electrically (CANBUS), thermally (heat dissipation), and optically (glaring headlamps in improper reflectors).

Compared to literally every previous vehicle I've owned, my stock Maverick lariat turn signal lights seem extremely effective. I can see them lighting up signs ahead and behind the truck in twilight, let alone real darkness. I don't think there is a problem to be fixed and if you were looking for a vote to keep using the stock bulbs, here you go. Do that.

are you basing your non working taillights off the lock unlock function of the remote? or did you actually have someone sit in your truck and then apply the brakes and watch to see what happens? don't know if this is the case but maybe the lock function of the taillights isn't working correctly when activated with the remote. I have Lasfit bulbs all around and no issues other than the hyper flash on the inside dash after the recalls. If you did do the brake light test the other way, then NEVERMIND! 🥹

Yes, if one of doors or hood is not completely shut the horn honks once and lights flash once signaling " locked successfully" two honks/flashes signaling "not locked".

Same issue with Lock/Unlock and Brake Light. I had the Ford Service guy watch as I did the stepped on the Brakes after the recalls were done. After replacing the with the factory bulbs, the issue is resolved and working now.

I know how the horn signals work when using the remote, was asking him if the post is based off the use of the remote or does it also do it when someone steps on the brakes.
