I won't buy the AWD Hybrid, but would consider one if it increased the tow rating.

If I trade I my current maverick with less than 10k miles and it only cost 5-6k out of pocket I’ll do it

I still think the santa cruz doesn't sell well because of its looks and name.
Ford is well known for trucks, and the Maverick actually looks like a pickup on the outside.
I think that's spot on.

I'm really curious to see what Hyundai does in two or three years, when the full SC redesign comes. They are usually very good at swiftly correcting their market missteps. The 2025 Santa Cruz toned down a lot of the styling "mistakes" they made (that's in our opinion, not the opinion of the 85,000 people so far who chose the SC over the Maverick).

What really puzzles me is why Hyundai hasn't offered any of the appealing hybrid or BEV drivetrains they have in their inventory on the SC. It's a head scratcher. Makes one think there must be either a cost challenge or an engineering challenge there.

Must be cost thing . They use same platform as the Tucson … I don’t see Cruz lasting much longer . Eventually Toyota , even Ram slow but will put somthing out

Interesting but I think I’ll wait until the next styling update when they get rid of the breath-rite nose strip in front
You realise it won’t look like that as final product right ?

Hopefully people will shut up about an AWD hybrid now, super annoying. Most people don't even need it.
I'm happy with our Non-AWD Hybrids. Gives me an excuse to keep the Jeep Wrangler for snow days (and fun).

I think they just put both badges on the tailgate so you don't know which engine the spy truck has ;)
Agreed. I wish I worked on these test vehicles. I would drive the rumor mills wild with mismatched badges, wheels, fake tail pipes and so on.
