24S27 tail lights recall complete, things to know

I brought my truck to the dealership for a scheduled oil change awhile back and they did the signal light recall at the same time. Didn’t ask me, just did it. When I asked why they said recalls are mandatory under law ( MOT of Canada).
l’d like to skip this most recent recall for now but my truck is going in for a warranty job front sway bar link replacement next week and I suspect they will do all BCM updates at the same time.
Not sure what my rights are. Can I refuse a recall? Can the dealership skip it under Canadian law? I suspect they may have no choice.

Had it done at my house along with oil change, tire rotation and "The Works" service for about $90 in Ford points. Took about an hour and I was able to chat with the service tech the whole time. Nice guy. Didn't notice any difference in setup when he was finished. Just lucky I guess.

I also had mine done at my house which is actually a great service from Ford. The whole thing took about 20 minutes and the service tech informed me about the tpms sensors needing a reset (that happens on their own). The whole process was painless and convenient.

I had it done and I have yet to see an issue, other than my radio annoyingly wanting to turn on the local station upon start despite me never listening to it and the radio being off when I last turned off the truck. Might need to hunt down a reset setting.

Took 15 minutes in my garage.

These techs coming out to do the recall, is it from the dealerships or does ford just have techs they can schedule to do them? Do they charge for it?

Mine was from the dealer. Same price at dealer or at the house. Amazing!

From the dealership. No charge. I think the dealers get a little extra for the mobile techs from Ford but I think it is pretty break-even.

I got my letter from Ford to fix a recall. I received an update to the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module software calibration. Now there is a recall on this: Safety recall 24S33.

This is the second recall on a recall this month for me.

How did they jack up an support your car to do the oil change and tires? I asked the guy that did my recalls and he did not know because that dealership is not doing those services yet.

Mine was done in the garage and took about 20 minutes. Have not noticed any issues. He went around to each tire afterwards and did some kind of reset.

Except that only one person in that whole thread has mentioned an actual recall number, so I’m not even sure they are all talking about the same thing.

Had mine done by Ford Mobile Service. Was done around 20 minutes. So far no side effects. Not sure if he did anything for the TPMS. I was on a conference call and couldn't spy on his work.
