Am I the only person who turns it off immediately when I get into my Maverick?
The auto/stop/start is the most aggrivating item the car makers have come up with yet.....only the starter/Bendix drive manufacturers will profit from this stupid attempt to increase MPG.

I hit mine off each time I start Mav . only increases wear and tear on multiple components (engine , turbo , starter , and etc ). Isn't worth the few cents you save on gas versus high cost of repairs later on imo .

For those considering the ForScan route, keep in mind that is a permanent thing.

If you just want the button to remember your setting instead of having to press it every time you start the vehicle, get an Eliminator.
Just plug a night light into the AC receptacle.

I'm not a fan of Auto S/S. Plugging a night light in the AC receptacle worked for years on my 2019 Ranger. I have it plugged into the Maverick and seems to work most of the time. Cheap fix for an unwanted S/S.
Does that kill battery when the car is off?

Probably is tricking the BMS into thinking your battery voltage is always too low for AUTO STOP START to work

I MEAN, you COULD just UNPLUG the BMS sensor from the negative battery terminal... This will disable Auto stop start and your BMS all together! LOL. This really does work!

But this is definitely not the best way to disable it...

The best way is FORSCAN :sunglasses:

Or the eliminator. Whatever floats your boat

Back to the original question by the OP, this winter I also had problems with a/s/s. I got tired charging the battery every few days. I finally bought and installed an Interstate AGM battery, reset the BMS, and charged the battery charge level to 95% with ForScan. No problems since I made this change.

I belive my issue is something wrong with the seatbelt buckle. But the concensus is that most have this issue because of the battery.

No! I also "push" the little button... :ROFLMAO:
For ME it is just one part of the start up routine:
*start the engine...
*pull over the seat belt..
*PUSH the BUTTON...
*Adjust the Heat/AC...
*Turn On the Radio (by this time, the system had "indexed" my USB Flashdrive.)..
*Check the rearview for the working lights (I have the tail light recall, MY ONLY Recall)..
* And Open the Garage Door...

Perform these 3 coding changes via forscan below and auto stop start will be disabled, the icon will be gone from the cluster and the button will no longer work at all!

If I had any idea how to use Forscan, I'd do it. Any ideas?

The AC receptacle isn't powered when the engine is shut down. The light puts enough current draw on the AC when the engine is running so it prevents the S/S from shutting the engine down. You just have to make sure the light is on the whole time you are driving. You can paint the light black if you don't want the light shining in the back, but it never bothered me. I've not tried the light in the bed receptacle but may try that today when I go out.
