This sounds exactly like my experience last Friday. Driving 80 on the highway, 3 warnings, one about shifting to the selected gear, another about the precollision asssit, and a third about servicing the engine. I had 3 lights on the dash. After shutting it off for 30 seconds everything was still there, shut down for 30 minutes and they went away, just the check engine light.

My dealer's service dept. identified it as an SOBXXX computer on the transmission though, and expects it fixed by Friday. They gave me a loaner, but I'm signing paperwork tomorrow for an F150. I can't be stranded on the side of the road...

Had the same problem, my truck has been at the dealership since February 14th. They don't know how to fix it. Ford engineering is also involved.
2023 maverick lariat luxury hybrid.
That’s an easy fix, while at dealer purchase a ecoboost. Lol

I also have a 2023 hybrid lariat that lost total electrical power at a stop sign one time. So I will be following your post to see what the solution is I believe that the 12v charging system cannot handle all the power options that come with the lariat luxury hybrid.

UPDATE: I have had no problems since the engine failure in the desert 2 months ago., But I just got the official official notice that recall 23S27 "Underhood fire" was ready, so I had that done along with 24S27 "Body Control Hardware"

Interesting side note is that I found my USB stick just sitting on the center console when I picked the car up. So presumably they had to remove it (and forgot to put it back) to do these updates. I thought they use the OBDII connector for access

Trip planned hopefully no more problems

Just to add one more to the pile...

I had the same failure today (5/13/24). Power dropped to near nothing, got a message something like "the selected gear will be engaged (or available) at a lower speed," saw all the same messages listed by the other folks (powertrain malfunction, service engine, pre-collision assist not available) and maybe some others.

I limped into a parking lot, tried turning off/on, no help. A dealer was 4 blocks away so I limped there and left it.

One odd thing... the accelerator pedal did nothing at all, but the truck slowly (very slowly) accelerated on its own. I had to use the brake to stay at the 30 mph speed limit, even though it took me a couple of blocks to get up to it.

I also had the 23C41 and 23E09 recalls done in February. No trouble until now.

Sadly, while much less frequent, I've read about this type of thing reported with an Ecoboost too.

Apparently when the right computer, in a series of unnecessary over complicated status checks 🤣, goes bad ... This is the result.

I wonder if any real cost analysis will be done to prove if this kind of status check & system shutdown is really preventing larger damage or just causing customer dissatisfaction and Ford greater service cost while under warranty?

What modules were updated? OBDII is used, but sometimes USB as well (usually for APIM/SYNC, but possible for some others as well)

UPDATE 5/16/24:

Dealer identified a brand-new recall (24S33) that blames this problem on the fact that "your vehicle recently received an update to the hybrid powertrain control module hpcm software calibration." That "update" was done as part of one of the previous recalls.

Fix described as "REPROGRAMMED PCM SOBDM AND ABS." All is working well now.
