The two were built in AUG 2022, Hybrid XLT's.
I have hybrid Lariat JAN 2022 with copilot.

I wonder what the others have that have failed the update.

Interesting question. And I have co-pilot too on both.

Sounds like what I dealt with last night. Luckily I was stopped at a light less than a mile from home. It wouldn't go when the light turned green, and then gave me al the notifications. Limped it home, and later when I decided to take it to the dealer while traffic was light, it ran fine with only the service engine light on. Only 2-3 miles away. I hope I am not without it for long.

I did have the recalls done a few weeks ago as well.

Same thing happened to me while driving on FWY. Dealer just did a software update for the hybrid motor...
But mine did a horrible diesel-like sound whilw i tried to safely get out of the FWY.

After I just had the updates done, my truck did this weird clicking noise that sounded similar while I was pressing on the brake out of nowhere.
That was the first time it ever did that.
It was cold and rainy out.
Definitely seemed strange.
It may have been the ABS but it didn’t seem like it should have done that regardless.

Wonder if I should have gotten those updates? My truck had no issues at all, were the updates 100% needed to be done?

Is this happening with 2022 models only? Has the dealer been able to tell you which update is causing the issue. I'm seeing lots of discussions about what happened. But little is being said as to what year this is affecting and which update specifically is causing the issue.

I got it back from the dealer yesterday 6PM,
They had it for 2 full days and took it for 3 test drives and could no find any problems.
They did no work. I am not pleased, I have no assurance that it wont happen again.
Reports here and on Redditt say it apparently it can be fixed by simply waiting, or by entering the battery reset code. But it can still die while in traffic, and that can be dangerous

SOP should be:

Any type of weird unexplained codes pop up:

A) shut truck off
B) open and close driver's door
C) lock vehicle
D) wait 10 minutes
E) unlock vehicle
F) attempt to restart vehicle
G) if start was successful, drive away
H) drive short distances within city limits for a few drive cycles to see if original "problem" reappears or not

There are glitches.
There are glitches without fixable "problems".
This is the new way of life.
Steps A thru H are the new way to deal with it.

In step H if it does not resurface for you it's not going to resurface for a dealer so don't waste your time.

How often do you reboot a computer or reboot a phone?

We have computers on top of computers on top of 4 wheels.

Your truck really truly can be "fixed" with a reboot here and there. Other times actual parts are necessary. But the default response should be do a reboot first, take the parts route last.

In the manual, page 311, Battery Sensor Reset procedure is reported as a way to expedite a reboot.
Ford wouldn't have that in the manual unless it was going to be needed.

But the fact that it can fail and require this computer reboot when you are in traffic is a concern.
My desktop computer requires a reboot occasionally and I might loose a document i was working on. But nothing hazardous

Pretty sure all model years, the recalls that apply to your vehicle should show in your ford pass account, fords website or the tab website. Just input your vin #

I have had all the recalls except this PCM one. My year 2023 didn't require it. That is why I am posting the need for those to clarify that it is the PCM update that is causing it. I've had the cluster and tailight done.

Been stated here before in this thread but please file a compliant with NHSTA.
The OE’s don’t like having their issues piling up within a watch-dog agency culminating, if enough common complaints filed, in an ā€˜Official Investigationā€ . They hate that. Ties up a lot of resources for them.
