What year Maverick is this? And what model, XL, XLT, or Lariat. Was this from the car washers with the spinning rollers? Just curious

so still using the same bucket I have had since 1993, and occasionaly have got a rock on the mitt that left a scratch and had to buff out. Here are my tips once you get that buffed out looking new again
Do not use a "mitt" for obvious reasons (trapping of grit/sand). Best thing to wash with is a soft natural brush. They usually use boar's hair, whose soft fuzzy ends won't scratch anything and don't drag crap across the paint. They may be expensive, but if properly cared for last decades.

2022 Alto Blue
Automatic spinning bristles yes.
I've done nothing by hand.

I went through the same car wash about 2 times a month from Dec to now. In the grey winter months I really didn't notice. In bright sunlight it is apparent. I'm not going back!

An orbital polisher with a finishing polish should fix that, afterwords I would do either a nice carnuba wax or have a pro do a ceramic coat, Modesta makes some really good ceramic's but they usually require professional installers etc.

a muddy vehicle probably went through the wash before the OP and the brushes were rubbing dirt into his paint.

regardless of the paint color, headlamp lenses went through the same. there are some people who have monthly subscriptions that wash almost daily, and their paint and headlamp lenses will be noticeably hazed in a short amount of time.

Lots of retail products will take that right out like griots garage. A clay bar and some speed shine would probably do it really quickly. lots of do it yourself products that are fairly simple or spend 300 bucks and get the whole car done right by professional.

I fear the little grains of dirt/gravel/salt stuck in what slaps the water based paint of the Maverick, so ours goes no where near one of those. If necessary I will use a wand wash to get rid of salt, etc. Otherwise, hand wash and chamois.

Seek a “good” pro detailer. There are plenty of bad ones who will do even more damage.
If OP listens to any advice from this thread, it is this.

......wash at home, doesn't take any longer than going to car wash......
I will spend 4 hours cleaning one of my vehicles. It's a whole process! Costco has saved me so much on yellow chammy cloths.

Edit:

If you pay to have it fixed by a professional just kindly remind them that the paint on our trucks is terrible. They should already be checking thickness before going at it, but just let them know ahead of time.
