Went to Livernois today and picked up my mycal.
Went with 87-93 tow tune
87-93 performance tune. I completely forgot the e30 tune but I can snag that later.
Still planning e85 but waiting a bit to finish figuring out what route I want on this truck. Then it can go for one dyno session and be done. I had a full load in the bed so I was not able to rest it today but truck is empty so tomorrow I’ll see how it feels

So loaded the 87-93 performance tune today. What a difference. 3k rpm and under it hard to believe it’s the same truck. Seems to have picked up about 1.5 mpg also but it may be more as I’ve been in the throttle heavier than normal cause it’s fun.

I'll be doing the same this summer once my 3/36 expires.

Had the LMS tunes on my '18 2.7 F150, made that truck Jekyll & Hyde. When driving conservatively, it did pick up an additional 1-2 MPG over the OEM tune.

I know the Mav won't feel nearly as strong, but I'm looking for overall improved "feel", along with a couple tenth's & an MPG or two....

Be curious to get more feedback from you as miles add up.

I completely understand not wanting to void warranty. I got a 10/ 100k with mine from dealer. But I bought this to enjoy and I enjoy them much more tuned. Lms has done a few for me and not a single one has had any issues after hundreds of thousands of miles. Usually pick up about 2-3mpg and drivability is so much better.
Getting a good test of it hauling tomorrow for about 10 hours. Having just hauled back from south Texas I should see the difference

Yes very happy so far but limited miles today maybe half tank. But so far it’s much better the power under 4 k is a different truck.
Yes I went to Livernois as I live 2.5 hours away but was working. 5 min from them.
So I just swing in. I wanna say it was $600-700 I honestly didn’t look. I just did the mycal tuner and the tunes.
I plan on going e85 late spring when I don’t need this truck as much for work

Can't speak to the Mav yet, haven't done it. On my 2.7 F150, it was a crazy difference. That engine had a lot of margin, it was impressive before the tune (on 93 gas) and a beast after. Would run high 12's at the track, mid 4's 0-60....crazy numbers for a supercrew 4x4. Overall driveability was improved, they can tune out the 10AT skip shifts & auto start.

I know the Mav won't be as strong, but looking forward to overall improvement, and a bit quicker.

I already have the device, so it's $200 for me, and I believe snox is correct in the $600-800 range starting new.

LMS is a top tuner, has been for years.

Can the stock transmission handle the extra power or is it a good idea to have it beefed up?

I would agree that the 8F35 is the weakest link in the Mav drivetrain, but there are several members here pushing seriously mod'd Mav's with no trans failures.....yet! I don't know of any aftermarket support for this particular trans.

It's unlikely just a tune would increase power levels to the point of exceeding trans limits....but combined with driving style & usage, could be a concern for sure. And of course, if something does happen after a tune, most likely bye-bye warranty.

Bottom line, if a long trouble free life for your Mav is your priority, I probably wouldn't be tuning it.

I used to live a couple miles from them but way back when I had the mustang the company wasn’t that advanced enough but things are changing for the good keep us updated with your progress 👍tks Vinny

Do you have a Dragy? I think some before and after runs are in order! Glad you are enjoying the newfound torque!
