Does anyone know what our top speed should be on this? Probably the first one I haven’t found out first hand in a while. If it’s under 130 than yes lms has raised it.
Made a quick trip to Mexico to find out. Was not able to reach top speed but it was able to get to 130.

130MPH? I would seriously doubt both the ability to stop safely at that speed in an emergency plus the exponential additional wear and tear on components of essentially an entry level Ford truck made in Mexico. Definitely exceeding design specs significantly.

this has been repeated by several tuners in the past. Livernois was one of them.
It may very well not be federal or state law. But not sure why it matter so much to you. You may be correct. I was going off what was stated by several tuners I have worked with. Why would lms, montune USA, and others state that. They are the ones usually more well versed because they are the ones being fined.
Besides what is the difference of no speed limit rating and say 999mph? They all raise it to a number we cannot reach if you so fancy.
short answer is I’m not sure if they raised it yet or not. The paperwork’s says they do. But I have yet to make sure. Not that I care to take a maverick on top speed runs.
"I heard it is illegal" is very different than saying "It has been illegal for years" and then doubling down on it.

In theory, yes, you should be able to trust these shops when they tell you something. But if a guy at Livernois or anywhere else told me that what I wanted was illegal, I'd challenge them the same way: "show me." Obviously, a lot of the time they are covering themselves because the laws are changing all the time, or are just crazy to begin with (looking at you, California... :D).

I wasn't able to find any tuner, Livernois included, that put it in writing online. If they were knowingly flaunting a loophole or getting into legal semantics that risk their business, you'd think they'd make it plainly clear and cover themselves ("Off-road use only." Riiiigghhtt.) rather than limit it to chit-chat or however you got the information.

I don't have any skin in the game; I'm not planning on getting a tune any time soon, and if/when I do, the legality of it won't bother me either way. And I'm not trying to pick on you or hijack the thread. If people want their Mavericks to have 500+ hp and do over 150 mph, I have no beef with that at all - I will enjoy those threads/posts as much as the next guy. But one of the great things about forums is the sharing of information... if we are just going to spread anecdotal stories and hearsay without qualifying it, what is the point?

Went to Livernois today and picked up my mycal.
Went with 87-93 tow tune
87-93 performance tune. I completely forgot the e30 tune but I can snag that later.
Still planning e85 but waiting a bit to finish figuring out what route I want on this truck. Then it can go for one dyno session and be done. I had a full load in the bed so I was not able to rest it today but truck is empty so tomorrow I’ll see how it feels

So loaded the 87-93 performance tune today. What a difference. 3k rpm and under it hard to believe it’s the same truck. Seems to have picked up about 1.5 mpg also but it may be more as I’ve been in the throttle heavier than normal cause it’s fun.

I completely understand not wanting to void warranty. I got a 10/ 100k with mine from dealer. But I bought this to enjoy and I enjoy them much more tuned. Lms has done a few for me and not a single one has had any issues after hundreds of thousands of miles. Usually pick up about 2-3mpg and drivability is so much better.
Getting a good test of it hauling tomorrow for about 10 hours. Having just hauled back from south Texas I should see the difference

Yes very happy so far but limited miles today maybe half tank. But so far it’s much better the power under 4 k is a different truck.
Yes I went to Livernois as I live 2.5 hours away but was working. 5 min from them.
So I just swing in. I wanna say it was $600-700 I honestly didn’t look. I just did the mycal tuner and the tunes.
I plan on going e85 late spring when I don’t need this truck as much for work

No offense taken. I never bothered to go any farther with it than a series of tuners saying they can’t legally remove them. I took them at that. But they all stated they could raise them. So
Removed or raised to 999mph to me was all the same.
Why would you ask them to prove it? Seems if they say it is but said they can raise it what would be the point other than to prove it. Again nobody other than a phone jockey has ever told me it’s illegal so it may very well be. Or maybe one state has it and they decide to play it safe. Who knows? I don’t and didn’t care cause the end goal was achievable either way.

Well that is what some common sense and skill come into play. And also risk assessment. I know exactly what I’m getting into when doing it and do it in as safe of manner as one can. Only one in any danger was myself and I’m ok with that. Where I tested was closed road. Nothing around so emergency would only be a failure of something that I’m ok with that risk.
The stopping as always is increased as speed raises but again. That’s factored in. I was never at a point where I had to use them anymore than normal.

Can the stock transmission handle the extra power or is it a good idea to have it beefed up?
So far nobody has had any issues. Even the guys pushing much more power than stock. I’m sure I’ll be one of the first to find out with how much and how heavy I haul with it. Coupled with drag racing and according to ole Montana my bigger tires are gonna ruin my drivetrain anyway so I might as well abuse it. Lol

So just took a trip to NYC with the maverick and used the 87-93 toe tune. Took my 10’ enclosed two axle trailer. Was on 80 almost the whole way.
Cargo was just shy of 4K lbs. the tune did exactly what I thought it would. Shifts are perfect. Doesn’t instantly drop a gear on the hills. Heck the Poconos are pretty big and I think it only downshifted twice.
Now here is the shocking parts mpg

My tuner is arriving today. I'm looking forward to the experience, but want to mount the new CV intercooler before setting up the tuner.

stock limiter is 109 mph but people have reported it engaging as early as 105. at any rate, if you saw 130, clearly that's been raised as you suspected.
