Even more info goes through ford and its affiliates and partners , engineering , sales ,service etc ….. from us using this app and website through every comment here!!
Why do you think it was created?
Information!
Those that have it , use it , excel, succeed , develop new, better , adapt , change accordingly.
Those that don’t stay the same , don’t evolve and the world moves past and around them.
I don’t see a large evil in the type of info gathered for the furthering of other consumer things .this type of info has been around before book of the month club , publishers clearing house, other companies like that . They all tracked and marketed to YOUR address about subjects and items YOU ordered or showed interest in .
Info+marketing=sales

Not sure what several of those codings are to be honest and not sure if it would disable ford pass functions or if some of those codings I posted are disabled already. I really don't think there is much to worry about but I still do find it a bit odd lol

I used to work in military intelligence and come from a country where your privacy is very important. None of that stuff needs to be enabled unless required by law. Especially that stuff that includes the word "insurance" or "location sharing".

If it disables Ford Pass, oh well. I'll just not ever use that to start my car from the house. Which I don't do since my car is parked in the garage.

It's always funny to me when people go crazy over this stuff yet they never worry about the number item that everyone has that collects more personal data than all other products combined... you're cell phone!

I'm not justifying what Ford and all other car manufacturers are doing, in fact I don't like it at all. But we accept it when we purchase their products. The alternative is to drive an old car that doesn't collect data.

Cool, so they see me go to work, go fishing, and pick up the foster kid. Have fun sorting through that data I guess, sounds like a real cash grab.
The next time you go to your favorite secret fishing hole, the one you won't even tell your coworkers about, and there 57 guys there stealing all your fish, you'll realize right then how they found out. :ROFLMAO:

Unplug the fuse for the LTE modem in the truck, after that there is nothing to transmit the data. If you go to a Ford dealer for services, they will likely plug it back in every time you go, so you'd need check it after each visit.

Since it's retaliated to GPS, from the looks of it, yeah the entire GPS is a government system, that has been open to civilian use. If you use it, yeah they know where you are. :ROFLMAO:

You can unplug it on the modem altogether, about this time last year another user went over this. If I recall correctly he outright removed the modem. How long do you think the back up power supply lasts?

They only do it so they can better market to us, which I know we all want!

By the way, does it keep track of how often a fart is released while driving? Now that would be some valuable info to sell.

It won’t change until enough of us tell congress our privacy is more important than their profits. Europe has much stricter privacy laws and the businesses seem to be doing okay over there.

They also know how many times you exceed the speed limit, how many times you had to brake hard, where you've been, where you stopped, time of day, how long you were there, your maintenance records, and much more. Your insurance company is very interested in this information, and police can obtain it with a warrant.
Actually if the data is being collected and sold commercially there is a good chance that police can just purchase the info from data brokers without even getting a warrant. That's a contested area of the 4th amendment.
