Thanks! That makes perfect sense. There's something kind of satisfying about modules that you can just swap in and out, like the headlight control, to add functionality. I imagine it streamlines the manufacturing process too.
Also this diagram its for normal fog lamps . Not the diode dynamics ones because those have 3 wires.

I used the ground from the side markers lights on my truck for a cleaner look. On the front bumper harness.

The harness i make just use a chassis ground and the 2 bcm wires for the fog lights very simple to install compared to how i did it to my truck.

I don't plan on using the backlights in the diode dynamics fog lights, which is why I drew the diagram up with only one wire powering the lights. I suppose if I wanted to use the backlights, I could hook them up to the parking light circuit. I don't like using wire taps though, so I like the idea a nice clean connection made inside the car at the BCM.

@Darnon you were the second one that did this right? Did you do it the same way or you wire it differently

For the plate-mounted lights presently in my icon I wired them directly off the BCM.

For the Diode Dynamics fog kit I installed recently I used the included relay. Constant power to the 12V cable connection, triggered by one of the BCM fog power lines, and the backlight function I instead piggybacked the line I use for my grille lights tapping the camera fuse. Didn't know if the lights themselves had circuitry to switch the backlight off when the fogs were active (didn't test), so just used the relay.

Im looking for volunteers of anyone that buys the harness i want to make a video on how to do it your self and i will install it for free. Right now im lacking materials so it will take time.
I would gladly volunteer if I didn't live in Ohio. It's kinda far for a video. LOL

@Vtec87pr1 great job ill be installing this style harness soon. From what I read through, you provide the pin type for the BCM connector, but what about the pin types for the bumper harness connector? Maybe I missed it but I couldn’t find in your threads.. thanks!!

@Vtec87pr1 Gotcha, it’s definitely I nice touch to make it close to oem and make life easier down the road…
do you happen to have the PNs? I’ll probably be adding this feature myself to my own setup
Thanks!

Just chiming back in again. I installed the harness made by @Vtec87pr1 and I love it. Hybrid f150 headlight switch and Diode Dynamics SS3 fogs. The hardest part of the harness install is getting it through the grommet in the firewall. I’ve had my Maverick in for routine service a few times and the techs had to flash some modules that knocked out my lights. I used ForScan later that night and they were up and running within minutes. This is how Ford should have given us fog lights. Thankfully, those smarter than me were able to figure out the similar parts between models to make it happen.

Just take your time and be patient
I got the switch in and I got the lights in. Just gotta play with the BCM to get wire 6 or 7 in. I'm not going to fully do it like you did but just use one wire as a signal.
