Just bought a beautiful 2024 XL Maverick with Ecoboost. What recommendations do you have for breaking it in?

I would drive normally not hot rod it, change oil and filter at 1,000 miles with a full synthetic oil that meets ford oil specifications then have fun with it and then change every 5k miles, use a good tier 1 gas brand of your choice. Decide on your preferred oil brand and stick with it

I had a long drive home and drove it varying the RPMS every so often on long open stretches of highway mixed with city driving and driving to and through Canada for the first couple of days and then I was over the 1,000 mile mark and was done with the break-in period.

Top Tier gas only (https://www.toptiergas.com/about-top-tier/).

Change oil and filter at 1k to a full synthetic and full synthetic filter. Change every 5k miles.

PTU, RDU, and Transmission fluid change at 10k miles

S&B Intake at 10k miles....ok that last one is just for me :D

Dont tow or heavy loads for the first 500-1,000 and just accelerate typically. Try to avoid a lot of idling if possible.

Just follow the recommendations in the owner’s manual and use common sense.

I kept the speed under 65mph for the first 1000 (ok, an occasional momentary bump to pass someone at 70)... No slamming on the accelator.. no big transmission kickdowns... varied the speeds and rpms to break it in over the full range..
