I’ve never used an upgraded alternator but I’m thinking I’m leaving some performance on the table
Tail lights dim when the bass hits (obv when turnt up)
Is this a worthwhile upgrade (if there is one available…. Haven’t even gotten that far)
I also really need to eliminate some rattles too…. The grill or the radar cruise sensor rattle quite a bit
I’m just too lazy to actually do it…. But I’d really like to

Ok so the move is to add a battery or two since the alternator is a pain

Something like that

Might seem a little counter-intuitive, but when the vehicle is running, any additional batteries will put more of a load on the alternator which has to charge them. Read more on the topic here. Generally, a battery should be just to start the vehicle, and the alternator is to provide power for the accessories. Unless you want to listen with the vehicle off - then a 2nd battery and a dual-battery isolator would be the way to go. But most people don't have a need to run the system hard with the engine off.

A stiffening capacitor was what I'd used in the past but since I haven't been that far into car audio in a while, I don't know if it's still a thing. After all, a lot of today's amplifier options are class D and use a whole lot less power than the prior generation used to. Crutchfield's site has a good short description of stiffening capacitors.

Otherwise, consider an amplifier upgrade to something that's class D. JL audio, Kicker, Alpine, Soundstream, and others offer very compact amps that are really efficient and put less of a demand on the vehicle's electrical system. I've been shopping for an amp/amps for my system build lately and I'm definitely going with a class D digital amp.

There is a really easy thing to check which I've seen contribute to problems like this. Someone installs a nice amp/amps that are hungry for current. Large gauge power cable is used to connect the amps to the positive terminal of the battery. Large gauge negative cable is used to connect the amps to a body ground. But most people never upgrade the factory cable which connects the negative of the battery to the body ground. I have friends that have spend way too much on the best brand name massive power cabling, but don't address that bottleneck. Only as good as its weakest link, as the saying goes. For what it's worth.

I would try the big 3 first, if its possible on the Maverick.

I was reading somewhere here, that the trucks that came with the inverter came with a higher output alternator. Something like 200 amp vs 160 amp. I did see Sonic or D4S sells a 300 (or so) amp alternator for the 2022 Escape. That may fit, but I am more leaning towards it will almost work.

What's your opinion with silvers coilovers with original springs vs Lowrance gills set up? I'm just wondering if it's worth another $500 ?? Also your truck looks good. I want mine a little lower.
Did you have the adjustable camber arms on in this picture? Back looks low. I just received my silvers coilovers, the Lawrence gills . I'm putting them on in a week or so.

I have them but haven’t installed them
The rear is all the way down
I had to raise the front up so it would be even (plus I rubbed holes in my front fender liners)

Thanks for the pictures and the feedback. I'm kinda cheap , so I don't like spending money on something I might not need. If I can get a good alignment and not need the camber links. But at the end of the day I will probably get them at some point.

I have nearly 34k miles on my rear tires and they are only now starting to wear on the inside
Make sure the toe is set right! I made the mistake of not checking while waiting for a shop to make some camber arms (they never did) and the tires wore out in about 5k miles….. that sucked
With it being so low I couldn’t casually look at the tires so I didn’t know

That sucks about the tires and the fender liners. I don't drive much to wear out tires. I have 6k miles on my truck in almost 2 years. And 2 sets tires, stock and my summer ones. But I will do a alignment soon after. Thanks for the info. Also your truck looks great. Really good in the sun.

Looks good. Red and white are my 2 choices in vehicles. Do you know your current ride height? I just installed the Silvers. What a job that was to adjust. Mine is at 30" from the ground to the top of the fender wells. And for some reason the rears are all the way down. I'm going up on the rears a 1/2 inch.
