I ordered a Maverick XL AWD with full size spare I just saw a post about the full size spare they give you from factory is not the same as the 4 tires that come on the truck. Is this true doesn't sound right to me I paid extra for the full size spare because I hate the little donut spare that they use as a spare now. Any answers. Thanks

You paid extra to get a full size spare instead of a doughnut, The tire is a full size spare just not the same tire. they went with a cheaper tire as the spare is hardly ever used. Even on the lariat the full size spare is not the same tire as is on the truck

The spare tire/wheel are not the same as your truck's regular tires/wheels. It won't affect the truck if you don't drive on it much. Most spares (donut or almost full size) are designed to get by on until you can get to a place that can fix your flat.

I'm still not sure if the steelie that "full size" spare is mounted is the same as the rest of the steelies on the XL, it might be.

It's a spare tire, whats the difference if it matches the rest of the tires. The donut is smaller in diameter then the full size spare, but the full size will work with an 17,or18 inch rim until you fix the tire going flat.

Nope. At least not on my truck. When I ordered CP360, it included power mirrors and the larger sized spare tire. Not the same as the regular wheels or tires on the truck.

Neither the donut or the larger spare tire are intended to be used as a permanent replacement for a regular tire that went flat.

The full size spare means it is a full use tire.

You can carry full weight with it.
You can drive full speed with it.
You can drive as long as you want with it.

This is the benefit.

The smaller tires have load and speed and distance restrictions.

It does not look the same so you can't do a 5-way rotation is the downside.

Pretty sure it's a full sized wheel so you can put a 225 or 235 on it if you want. The size difference is not that much especially compared to the donut spare.
