Hello,
Been lurking this forum since finding out and ordering a Maverick hybrid.
Would like to ease nerves and see who has a hybrid that has little to no problems. I placed an order recently and hesitant on hybrid.
But at the same time it fits all the marks in what I need in a vehicle
-gas efficient( I drive over 40miles a day)
-cargo space(bed to hold oversized items)
-passenger seats(family)
-durable?(cv axles big issue?)
Primarily used as a work vehicle, carrying tools as well, current vehicle gets crammed very fast. Anyways Thanks. And hope to join the club soon.
Baby is now 19 months old with 13,524 miles and overall MPG is 43.1. She is the smoothest riding vehicle I have had in years. Yeah, a few recalls but Cavanaugh Ford scheduled us quickly and did repair while we waited, popcorn and bottled water ncluded. FordPass works and figured out the info screens with a little reading and some experimenting. Child's play for a 79 year old coot. Hope you love your Baby as much as we have ours.

Hello from Encinitas. I purchased a 22 2.0EB while I awaited for my hybrid to be built. Sold it with 8,800 miles when my 2024 Lariat hybrid arrived. Only issue with '22 was a rumble in the dqsh over rough roads.

My 2024 hybrid has 1,300 miles on it. Got the tail lamp recall notice. No issues, am getting 44+ mpg. I purchased a dog blanket cover to protect the back seat where I put my tool boxes. It forms a "U" and attaches to the headrests. I added the tailgate damper and my truck came with spray in bedliner. It fits easily in my garage where I can leave the bed safely loaded with materials and parts for the next day.

The hybrid is perfect in our climate. I go 570 miles on a tank. Only filled twice [the dealer filled it upon delivery. ] use 87 from Costco.

I sold a nice 2016 GMC Canyon V6 when I switched to the Mav. It could tow 7k+lbs. I never tow. I was tired of trying to reach stuff in the bed and having to lower the tailgate and hop up to get stuff I couldn't reach from over the side. It had a manual rear window. My Mav Lariat hybrid has a power rear window. Easy to haul long sticks of baseboard or a 12' 2x4 without a rack. I can reach stuff from in the bed from the side. Hope this helps.

Early in my time with my '24 Lariat hybrid at 10 weeks and about 1200 miles, but I have no complaints. I had many worries having been following the issues on here for over a year. MPG does seem to be more effected by the cold than our '14 Prius, but I'm still not sure.

All these replies are very helpful and appreciative. Maybe I’ll take FamousAmos advice and stay off here till I get mine lol.
I’ll definitely be waiting to get mine as it seems very much worth the wait.
If anyone’s else wants to chime in, the more the better!

We got our 2023 Maverick Lariat Hybrid in early October 2023 after waiting 13 months after order. I have over 6,000 miles on it, no issues. This coming fall I'll probably order another, MY2025, in anticipation of yet another 12+ month wait. We lease our cars.

We also have two hybrid Escapes, which are essentially the same platform. One of them a 2022 and the other a 2023. The 2022 replaced a nearly identical 2020. None have given us any problems.

There are two outstanding recalls on the 2020 Escape. One of them they simply have no fix for, and that's disturbing. More disturbing is when they do get a fix for it, it will probably be months before they get any parts to fix it. The second recall is some kind of reprogramming so the ECU recognizes if a directional lamp is non-functioning. Since so many idiots on the road don't use directionals, this is a fix to do at an oil change.

In 2015-2017 we had two Fusion PEH cars. One of them gave a serious fault: a red wrench appeared on the screen and said "pull over when safe to do so and stop driving this vehicle". Long story short it was a part called the "auxiliary battery heater". Took a month for Ford to get the part; there were only TWO in dealer inventories in the nation (they wouldn't give them up) and none in Ford's supply chain.

Aside from that Fusion issue in the prior paragraph, none of the Ford cars we've had in the past 30 years (generally two+ lease cars every year or so) have ever given us a problem that caused the car to not function. That being said, generally speaking none was ever driven beyond 60K miles.

About 17 months and 8500 miles. I have a 22 Lariat lux EB. I would have gotten a hybrid, but I wanted AWD. It is still a treat to drive and no real issues. I have to get the turn signal recall done someday. Weird thing, every so often it decides to lock the doors (in the garage). Thankfully it has the keypad so I don't have to run and get the fob. I would buy it again, for sure.

I'll jump on the band wagon! 7K miles and very happy. Over 40MPG on every tank with 80% freeway driving.

Plenty of power, quiet and nice to drive.

I'm having 2 updates done in my driveway at 11am today and that's it for dealer interaction.

The fire hazard was for gas engines in the Hybrids made within a limited time frame. Not an issue on new ones.

CV axle issues are real, but seem to be limited. Of course, you hear about the issues on here - not from people that haven't had problems with them.

The Ford Maverick Hybrid system uses a lot of the same Hybrid technology as the toyota prius and is licensed from toyota. Particularly the very reliable eCVT. Not to be confused with conventional CVTs in other vehicles that use belts & pulleys.
Yup. The eCVT has like 12 moving parts and I'm not exaggerating. Very simple and very very clever.
There's a reason so many taxis are Priuses.

14,010 miles and never driven EB, so I'm just imagining 60 more HP would be nice on the long mountain highways half loaded with gear.

The Hybrid engine rule is keep it below 50% power, which I've been able to do. It has enough am I'm happy with it on long trips, I just imagine the EB really excels at higher speeds and distances.

I bet I could beat the Hybrid's highway mpg with an EB with a little hypermiling.

24 XLT hybrid with 360. Had it about a month and 800 miles, and very happy. 38 mpg calculated (dash says 40.5). Roughly 40% around town, 40% 2 lane back highway, 20% freeway. Drives great, smooth, quiet, and all the controls are easy.
The only very minor nit is the entertainment system which seems much less developed than the rest of the truck - but it's not bad enough to really annoy me (especially once I connect my phone and get Android Auto).

I rented a sedan last week and drove it 600 miles overnight. It just cuts through the air so much better than Maverick or anything else. Very noticeable aerodynamic difference. The Prius just displaces so much less air.

Picked up my 23 Hybrid Lariat last April, some 500 days after the original order. It has 23,000 flawless miles on it now. Four visits to the dealer for oil changes only. This afternoon they will be doing a couple of minor recall updates in my driveway. Couldn't be happier with my Hybrid. Overall mpg as calculated by hand is 41. The dash shows about 43. This includes some pretty agressive freway miles. On my usual commute it averages around 46.

Bought my 2023 xlt lux hybrid with 9,000 miles used 12/23. My newest vehicle was a 2008 Kia Sedona. Been wanting a Hybrid Maverick since it first was announced. My wife was against putting out that kind of money for a new car that depreciates so quickly. Most we spent on a vehicle before was $14k. This truck is replacing a 2003 Ranger 4x4. I wanted the adaptive cruise and AWD on the hybrid. Ford has made that out of reach for me by price increases and removing features from xlt models.

I thought after awhile I would wait for Toyotas small hybrid but my Ranger became very unreliable. After much work and money it was time to move on. I was able to convince my wife to look at the Mavericks. The problem with buying Mavericks is not the trucks but the dealers in my experience. I have had some quote a finders fee up to $10k above the manufactures suggested pricing. The dealer closest to me received my requested online quote from Fords website. They called me and said I had to go to their business to tell them what features I wanted. I told them Ford should have sent that with my phone number. (I didn't like this dealer from past experience) So maybe they were telling me the truth but I thought they were going try to talk me into spending more than I wanted to spend.
Anyway I was done with them.

We went shopping for what was available. Online shopping was very helpful for this retired person who hates shopping for vehicles. The first one we drove was used and had a shimmy while driving. Sales person said this was normal for a hybrid. PASS! We found one online that was as close to what I wanted only $1k over original price but had transferable extended warranty. The dealer quoted an out the door price that was very reasonable. Two hour drive later no pressure, no extras, and fine with my own finacing I became a Maverick owner.

Everything was different with this computer on wheels! The first week of driving it was very frustrating. Trying to get everything the way I wanted it NOW while driving was dangerous to everyone on the road around me. Getting the high mileage is a learned skill. The truck drives "heavy" and low compared to my Ranger. I actually like the feel. I really am enjoying the truck very much. The best milage on the road for me was 59.6mpg. The lane folling feature takes some getting used to. My Mav doesn't like passing Amish Buggys. The brakes are more sensitive than I am used to.
I like all the fancy features of the luxery package. I have a remote key fob. I live in OH. Going out to a vehicle with heated seats and heated stearing wheel while having both the windshield side mirrors cleared of snow and frost is a luxery. My wife loves the heated stearing wheel so much, I am going to have to find a aftermarket for her van. All of this to say go for it and happy driving to you!😁

I have a 23 XLT Hybrid I got in March 2023 and have about 8500 miles on it. It has been a great truck so far. I tow it behind our Class C RV when we travel and use it as a daily driver. I really enjoy the Maverick and it serves all of my needs. Great gas mileage and I really think it is a great looking and driving truck! I would buy it again.
