Calling all late 2023 and 2024 Hybrid Owners...soliciting your thoughts

Picked ours up in April 2023. No big issues, love it. We had a funny rattle start and we're waiting for a strut to come in under warranty.

How is the acceleration? Also the jump from Electric to ICE? How is it at high speeds? I plan on getting one, or maybe a Toyota Stout, if they come out with it! I will only buy a Ford or Toyota, preference is Ford. Been my vehicle all my driving life and only new since 1993.

Acceleration is fine- look at the 0-60 numbers of cars, Hybrid Mav is in the middle of the pack of most. My wife doesn't usually notice when the ICE is running or not. We do hear it when it's cold. High speed ICE stats on but wind noise drowns that out (like most cars).

If it's ever made, Stout is at least 2 years out...

To say Im nervous about the issues that I have read about is an understatement, this is my 1st new car in many many years.
Im hoping that Ford has worked out the kinks and My new Mav will be trouble free. I would appreciate some honest input, opinions and real life experiences that would help me pull the trigger on my 2024 Maverick.

I purchased my 23 XLT Hybrid in late November 23 and I think it was produced in September 23.
I only have 2900 miles so far and have so far been impressed with it. My average MPG is 41.6
currently exceeding my expectations.

My only complaints are the infotainment system is buggy and inconsistent in how it performs. Also I wish the seat bottom was a little larger but it's not terrible, I got use to it quickly

My '23 hybrid would have been one of the last '23's built. I have had it since the beginning of November and am currently at 9300 miles. I live in ND, and I have not had any problems despite running it on ice, in snow, and thru mud. (Not by choice). Given the complaints I have read over time, I feel like the teething problems have been worked out. Only time will tell, of course, but I absolutely love my Maverick. Mileage averages in the high 30's so far, but I suspect it will rise as the temperature does. Mileage does start to go south fast the farther you get below freezing, but it's still much better than my previous vehicle, a 2019 6cyl. F-150. I will say that it feels like the best value for the money I have ever experienced and hope you have as good an experience as I have had.

I took delivery of my 24 Lariat hybrid (Cactus Gray) last Mon 1/29. I’m loving it! I’ve been enjoying playing the game of how to keep driving for free: electric vs hybrid mode. I haven’t quite found the sweet spot yet but each time I drive her, it’s fun.
This is my first American (yes, Mexican assembled) car in 13 years. I’m a Japanese car person. I’ve been waiting for Japan to get on board with a “low-cost fun to drive & not an econobox” truck.
Sure, I’m wondering how long this truck will last, if I’ll encounter issues, recalls, and problems down the road. It’s a crap shoot. All I can say is enjoy the new wheels, the sheer joy of driving a new vehicle. Relax my friend, time will tell.

We have had my wifes 2022 lariat hybrid for a year and a half now with just over 16000 miles and have had no issues at all. A couple of recalls have been done but I wasn't even experiencing the problems the recalls were for. I have had my 2024 lariat Hybrid for three weeks now and less than a 1000 miles but have still had no issues with it at all. we love both are mavricks.

I too was pretty nervous about buying a new vehicle of any kind, let alone a 1st. gen hybrid. I am 67 and have never, ever bought a new car before except for a '83 Chevette for my wife. It was trash, and the dealer was useless. Still, my '07 Tacoma 4-door 4x4 had 260K mile on it and was showing it's age (and got 17mpg going downhill) so I took the plunge.

After waiting 18 months, I took delivery of my '23 Mav XLT Hybrid in late April of '23. It has, so far, been entirely dependable. My only complaints are mostly personal preference (the "shifter", crappy radio/media interface, "middle finger" key, etc.) except for the backup camera. It gets dim, no matter how often you return the display to full brightness.. I'm getting 40mpg in the mountains going 58mph average in winter (running the heater), 45 in spring and fall with no A/C or heat, and 43 in the summer with the A/C on.

The dealer has been, surprisingly to me, pretty easy to work with. The two required oil changes so far have cost the same as at the local Snappy Lube- $110 for full synthetic. The "Your truck may burst into flames, but we don't know how to fix it cheaply yet" (my own name for it) is a bummer, so my first "Maverick Mod" was a fire extinguished mounted on the back of the driver's seat.

I have looked at the data, was curious on your opinion that's all. I believe the 0 to 60 to be in the 7ish range which is pretty good considering everything. When I first saw it I thought it to be slow! Funny really to think that, I grew up in the 60's and 70's, received my license in 74 cars back then on average were slower! I had a Pinto, which I loved and believe its 0 to 60 going down hill was 14 sec. range and I was happy with that! Amazing really how we view todays cars. I won't be buying for a couple of years or sooner. Hoping the market pulls its head out of its *SS. Thanks for your input, appreciated.

2023 XLT. Ordered in sept of 2021 a 2022. They gave me a 2023 for the price of the 2022. The wait was no biggie as I really didn’t know much about Fords and hybrids. Was doing fine in my Jeep Trailhawk Cherokee. Picked up my 2023 XLT Maverick in March of ‘23. 14,000 miles and NOT ONE ISSUE. LOVE THIS TRUCK. You will too! Wait it out.

There's no "jump". The truck smoothly goes from ICE to battery and back and forth as it needs. I've had Ford Hybrids since 2016 (2 C-Max' before) and they are incredibly smooth in operation. The regenerative brakes take 30 minutes to get used to, and then just sit and enjoy the smooth eCVT single speed transmission as it takes you from 0 to 100+.

Other than targeting regenerative braking, I don’t think at all about the hybrid part.

I have been driving my MY 23 Hybrid for 3 months now and no issues. Well, I do have a light bulb indicator recall but I think I will ignore that. I mean all my other cars and trucks have rear bulbs that will go out and there is no recall on them. I just listen for the fast blinker noise and know it means check for a bulb out.

But then I do have to tell you that I was always taught to do a walk around the vehicle at least once a week to see things out of the ordinary. Maybe a trucker thing I don't know. But it does keep you informed if you have issues that you won't see from the driver's seat.

I would have to second OleFordGuy on the luck of the draw dipping into the parts bin. I do a lot of my maintenance and I see a difference at times when I buy the same part from the same supplier at times.

Just get it- Drive it- Enjoy it.

I got one of the last 23's, end of Oct. Absolutely love it, fulfills all my needs. No squeeks, rattles, the worst noise is my phone holder rattles with no phone in it.
Got the Conti Pro Contact tires, quite happy with them, low noise and good grip. (SoCal)

Re: your blinkers, the recall is actually because the fast blinker noise is what doesn't work.

19,000 miles on 23 XLT hybrid. 35 mpg in winter . 45 mpg in summer. One software recall on burnt out taillight warning signal. Technician came to my house with a laptop and upgraded the software. I have towed small trailer, started it at 35 below zero after sitting outside, my gmc pickup hasn't moved in six weeks. . We sold the Subaru. I rarely get to drive it. My Wife Has it most of the time.
