Calling all late 2023 and 2024 Hybrid Owners...soliciting your thoughts

After 500+ plus days of waiting my Maverick has been built and awaits shipping....
To say Im nervous about the issues that I have read about is an understatement, this is my 1st new car in many many years.
Im hoping that Ford has worked out the kinks and My new Mav will be trouble free. I would appreciate some honest input, opinions and real life experiences that would help me pull the trigger on my 2024 Maverick.

I ordered my XLT Hybrid in Sep 2022 and took delivery of it in June 2023. Just reached 10,000 miles and have absolutely enjoyed driving my little truck. In warmer temps I get about 45 mpg around town but that drops to 40 or so with cold weather. On road trips I have consistently gotten 35 mpg, even with 4 people and a bed full of luggage and beach stuff.

I stopped reading most of the posts here once I got my build date email, you have to remember that most people, like me, that are completely happy with their Maverick, don’t bother posting about it. It’s all the unhappy ones that post again and again about how bad they think it is. I hope you enjoy your hybrid even more than I have enjoyed mine!

Got my '24 Hybrid Lariat in December. So far it been fun to drive with no noticeable problems. However I got my first Recall Notice last week for a modification to the Body Control Module software that affects turn signal outage detection system.

How is the acceleration? Also the jump from Electric to ICE? How is it at high speeds? I plan on getting one, or maybe a Toyota Stout, if they come out with it! I will only buy a Ford or Toyota, preference is Ford. Been my vehicle all my driving life and only new since 1993.

Acceleration is more than adequate, definitely better than our CR-V. And the switch between electric and ICE is completely smooth. Depending in speed and if you're playing music, you don't even hear the change half the time. It's pretty impressive TBH.

I’ve had my Lariat Hybrid for about 4 months now. So far there have been no surprises, and my thoughts are that you will have little chance of negative issues with yours. I have about 4k miles on mine and have flat towed it behind my motorhome with no issues. I’ve averaged north of 41 mpg for the last couple of months. I have to say I’m quite happy with the little truck overall. It is pretty much what I expected from an inexpensive small vehicle. So my advice is. Don’t try to over think it.

Do you have a 23 hybrid? What base plate did you have installed? I am still waiting on demco to fit the 24s.

I have had our 24 Lariat hybrid since mid Nov. Still loving it. No issues at all other than the Ford pass app disconnecting. No performance issues and mileage is great. My first vehicle with CVT, so it took some getting used to.

Yes, mine is a 2023 Hybrid. However, my bet is the 2023 and 2024 will take the same base plate kit. I installed RoadMaster's base plate for two reasons. First, I believe it the best. Second, I have the RoadMaster setup on my F-150 so it can be change back and forth, Depending on which vehicle I decide to tow. I have used RoadMaster’s base plates for many different vehicles and have always been satisfied.

23 XLT hybrid, got it May 23, now at 8500 miles. No problems with anything. Sometime auto hill braking is a PIA. Dad told me years ago never buy any car in the first prduction year.

There is some cutting to install the Base Plate kit 524470-4 on the Maverick. I’ve installed all of the base plate kits on the many vehicles I’ve set up for towing. There is cutting on most of them with the exception of the Jeep Wranglers I’ve done. Basically, you have to get rid of the lower set of louvers, which I can’t see much use for anyway. It certainly hasn’t affected the operation of the Maverick. When you‘re done, you can’t tell any difference when looking at the front of the truck. I’ll attach a picture of the finished installation. I just returned from a 1200 mile trip towing the Maverick. I’m impressed with the ease of activating and deactivating the neutral tow option plus the ease of towing it.

I’ll admit that I was a little unsettled about the cutting at first. However, after seeing how it turned out. The cutting doesn’t bother me in the least.

I agree with you that the power active shutter system isn't likely to really affect the truck...but we in this group have already heard of a dealer using the total destruction caused by the Roadmaster install as a valid reason to deny warranty. DEMCO looks as pretty as the Roadmaster, without the permanent destruction. There are a lot of posts on this.

And my experience is slightly different. I'm 350 miles into my Maverick. I'm learning every day about how it is assembled, configured, and presented. The drive train holds promise with great relative mileage, and ease of driving. The interior is pleasant, with a few shortcuts evident. The style is pleasant, and the lines are smooth. It is not as well built as my Honda Ridgeline was, but it is small and gets about twice the mileage. Overall I'm quite happy with my Lariat, and I imagine you'll enjoy it as well.
