Sounds like the computer needs reflashing. Dealer should be able to do that. If not, will need a new module. Sometimes you simply get a bad computer.

Sorry for your issues, OP.

This thread is one of many reasons I bought the XL. I have no desire to buy a truck with almost every option available - most of which are guaranteed to fk up at some point.

So far, I've had no problems with my Maverick XL Hybrid, other than rattles. And after riding in my brother's fancy new (and twice the price) Toyota Avalon, with his CEL notice on the display and multiple rattles, I don't feel so bad.

The random location in Michigan is actually the Ford world Headquarters. Definitely odd that it is showing that location
That sounds like a 'deep reset' on the navigation system, to the point that previous histories were erased. Just speculation here but maybe somehow the system got a total reset and any applied updates were wiped out.
Good luck. Hopefully the Ford Rep here can get it squared away.

I attempted that last night and it only made things worse, my vehicle is not saving my settings, I keep getting a prompt for CarPlay every time I connect my phone, it doesn’t remote start anymore, my lights stay on after turning off my engine for WAY too long in auto mode even after disabling the headlight delay, and my screen just stays black making my backup camera not pop up… and all I did was disconnect the positive terminal for 30 minutes 😬
Not that it matters. But you always disconnect the negative battery lead 1st. (Didn't need to disconnect the +)

Lemon law. Use it
Possibly in time - but in the state of Louisiana for a vehicle to qualify for a lemon, within the first year of ownership there must be 4 unsuccessful attempts to remedy an issue and/or the vehicle spends 30 total days out of service.

This would be its second time at the dealership. If I was able to get a loner or rental, it would’ve been there last week, but I need my vehicle right now and I don’t have a choice but to use it

YES IT DOES MATTER... Battery Safety 101.
Never disconnect the Positive cable first, an accidental contact with any metal, you would have welded it. to what ever you touched...

IF you do plan to pursue a lemon law make sure that you are documenting why it was brought it and that the issues have not been resolved. Ask for a write up each time you are there.

Sorry the battery disconnect didn't help. I guess you will need to work with TheFordGuy and dealership.

Meanwhile, it doesn't hurt to research the Lemon Law for your state. That way you know what the law requires you to do to claim under the law. Things like "it must be at a dealer three times for more than 5 days at a time" and the dealer gives it back after 4 days to avoid triggering the law, of course not fixed but the time factor is what may trigger your ability to claim under the law - or not. Good luck!

Taking the positive cable off first? That could have been really bad

having seen this happen, I would say welding to something isn't impossible, but highly unlikely. what you will get is a spark. then, presumably you'll move the cable quickly.

Is the head-unit freezing when using or attempting to connect Android Auto or Car Play? - If so, it may be your connecting cable, if that helps. Many of the inexpensive cables are sufficiently shielded to support the highspeed data connection necessary for AA/CP.

The location issue is just plain weird, unless you're in an area not mapped, so it defaults to that Ford address. Even a deep-sleep message just leaves it reporting its last known location

Coming from a Subaru, where the torque was constantly shifted around depending upon conditions, that might just be the torque management sensing a wheel turning fast or slower than the others, such as taking a bend and applying torque, or a momentary slip due to rough pavement. - My wife's Crosstrek has torque vectoring, and it moves torque around constantly, even on dry pavement. It's possible the system is working as intended, given the unique rear differential on the Tremor, but somebody else with a Tremor may need to check what theirs does.

My '23 has been pretty good thus far, with the only real issue being the 12v battery in the Hybrid is junk. Rather than get a free replacement of the exact same battery, I opted to upgrade the battery to something with more reserve capacity and hopefully higher quality. Now the voltage level and state of charge barely budge, it was worth the $105.00 to not drive up to my dealer, hoping they could actually get one.

I don't know. I have a fully loaded 22 Lariat and no problems. As for cables I only use HD cables from china $2.95 ea. and android app works great.
