Would help if you mentioned your average highway speeds. When I was trying to figure out which model to buy I rented an eco awd and a hybrid on Turo for a day each. My observed eco highway mileage was so close to the hybrid mileage that I chose to go with an ecoboost awd since 90%+ of my driving is pure highway. I think the astronomically high hybrid MPG you're seeing is from people who probably do 90%+ city driving which is where a hybrid powertrain shines.
Exactly. Good point to bring up.

about 37 MPG if I remember correctly. that was about a couple hundred miles hand calculated and it's been cold lately. I do shorter drives but not much highway. when I first got the truck and it was warmer I bet I was easily over 40 MPG. I'll keep checking with every fill up for a while and then probably again when it gets warm out.

I have left this running since I got the truck. It equates to 28.7mpg. I have an eco boost. Never use eco mode. Mostly highway.

I'm getting 33 average mpg after almost 3k miles. 60/40 highway/city. I understand highway is going to be worse. But I do far amount of city driving too. I use Eco mode EVERY TIME and try to keep it in electric/charging using the coach as much as possible.

So what's going on? Are you guys being serious with the MPGs you're reporting??? BE HONEST

One of the big selling points was mpg and I have 20 year old truck that I can get 25mpg in with complete disregard for driving style
Hi. There. When I 1st got my hybrid, 1st tank from dealer I got 15 mpg 2nd was 17. 3rd put in 94 . Got 17. 94 again. Well. Big bang from the muffler and wow. Off it was. More power and mpg went up to 35 on 5th tank average temperature around 20f. I was about to take it back. Happy I didn't have too. Warm temp I get around 41. Cold temp 36.

I got that a couple of times too - on a 25 mile trip in stop go traffic ( mostly slow go) when I arrived I could not believe it!
Oh Wait - I never ever got 19mpg average in the Hybrid. I thought the 67 miles in the image was the gas mileage.. ( that I have gotten a couple of times)

23 XLT hybrid, 4400 miles since 3/6/23. 70% city, 30% highway. My life long average so far is 42. I see 42-46 in local driving, have hit 50 a couple of times. Worst I've seen on the highway is 36/37 but that has only been 70 mile round trips so far. I do drive very easy, not slow but take off and brake easy most of the time. Just my experience so far.
sanpablo are you using "Auto Hold" feature on center console at all? wondering if that is part of the easy take off & brake strategy, or maybe even opposite?

I have always used the auto hold. I really like that feature. I have it on my 2016 Honda HRV also. I don't think it makes a real difference in my easy driving style, it's just convenient to have it.

That’s pretty wild! In Charlotte our temps don’t get as cold as other places 16-17 mpg seems pretty low. I’m sorry to hear that, it is definitely better than an F150 but those numbers aren’t much better than a midsized truck like a Ranger or Ridgeline.
you can see this mileage average for this tank, it’s been all city driving over the past two weeks. I know that’s the computer number but I’ve found mine to be pretty close 1 mpg off most of the time.

That's nice and I don't doubt that you and other people have better mileage than my Lariat does; this is what My2023 shows for the current fill-up prior to starting out today:

Ford Maverick MPGs FAR below advertised and hype. Are you all telling the truth? 1703351142888

Even dividing the miles with the hours, took off the 13 minutes for accessory mode, it results in 16.11 MPG. Yeah, the display is close enough to be accurate.

Note, that the odometer did not hit 3K miles by the time I've got back. It shows 2,999.9 miles and had two stops on this 4.6 miles trip. Practically driving the truck every day, for the last ten month pretty with trips like this....

Highway driving kills the mpg for me. Either I stay behind the Semi trucks who go between 58 and then sometimes one will pass in the fast lane doing over 70. If I get in that fast lane, to stay there I would have to go over 80. Leaping from being behind a slow truck up to 70 or more really destroys mpg. On city streets, with slow starts and staying close to the speed limits..that offsets freeway driving somewhat. So, mpg varies depending on how much I drive on or stay off Highways.

I get real crappy milage when I use ECO, so I don't. I use normal all the time and my running total at just under 7000 miles is 43.0. Maybe you better stop using ECO like I did. My profile shows me with an ecosboost, but it is wrong. I have a hybrid I waited 21 months for.

I typically average 42mpg. With all honesty. That’s about 60%hwy. But it’s at 73-75 mph. If I run 80-85 my mpg drops to about 38. Those are real calculated numbers. I’m as honest as they come. Ask my wife. Sometimes she wishes I wasn’t honest aka how does this look honey? I will say my heated seats and steeringwheel and heater do seem to drop the mpg a bit.

My experience is very similar with a 23 Xlt hybrid. Similar driving style, lightfoot I am. Seem to be getting 45 overall. That said, i think the maverick calculation varies in accuracy. Tends to show increasing range as the tank approaches lower levels. I think it underestimates mpg when the tank is recently filled.
