They say they are going to pull the transmission this week to troubleshoot it. We'll see. I called another dealership and they said they would have to start at step one with their own mechanic. So I'm just going to be patient and ride it out for the time being. Seems no turning back now. Maybe things will speed up because of the truck would be taking up a lift.

They say I should get a loaner tomorrow. But I'll believe it when I get it. I have very little faith in the ford customer service. This will help but this is getting old.

They say I should get a loaner tomorrow. But I'll believe it when I get it. I have very little faith in the ford customer service. This will help but this is getting old.

Well they finally gave me a loaner. But sounds like I'm still looking at several weeks before I get my truck back.

Talking to them today sounds like I will be lucky to get my truck back by Christmas. This is no joke. I called all around and it's a long wait no matter where I go. So I'm just going to keep it where it is because the wheels are already in motion there.

Well mine is back in the shop for new gremlins. Was driving down the road and the system shut down , forcing me to pull over. I could wait 1 minute and it would start back up and drive for a little and shut down again with all these warnings about all the modules loosing communication with each other. Drove to the dealer yesterday and he’d said all the modules are not talking to each other. So he order some type of hub that that is where they all link into and communicate. Might get it back next week.

On a brighter note, no low battery warnings coming in on ford pass. Good thing for the solar panel is the battery will stay charged while it sits on the lot 🌞. I sent ford a email asking if there tow trucks were more reliable than the Maverick , I could just tow my Maverick everywhere I go like a tool box.

Just crossed the 10k mile mark and had this same SHIFT SYS FAULT happen. Blinking drive indicator on the dial and would turn on the parking break if I tried to shift from park. Then the car would go haywire with warnings and ultimately the SHIFT SYS FAULT would come on. Luckily was in my neighborhood at a friend’s house (was going to load some stuff for them) and not in the parking garage at work as the tow truck was huge. Tow guy managed to get the parking break off and keep it off by not shifting the transmission out of park. Definitely something related to the transmission, whether software or mechanicals is apparently anyone’s guess. Only other trouble I’ve had is erratic braking at low speed and a clunking sound occasionally with harsh braking, again at low speed. Took it into the dealership when it happened hoping they could run a diagnostic - they kept it 5 days, never worked on it, never gave me a loaner, so I took it back and just kept driving. Doesn’t happen much though and the service writer I talked to kept telling me it was just how hybrids are. Clearly, he’s never owned a Toyota hybrid - we’ve had two previously. I’ve also had now four Fords and frankly like them. I assumed the brake deal was just a software issue between the regenerative braking and real brakes and I had an appointment next week for the oil change and to have them look at the service bulletin about that. Crossing fingers for this though…

You are correct, it’s the transmission. Been there done that. Now the hybrid controller died on mine after they just replaced it. This time it killed the entire can-bus. Would be sitting and running and sounded like you won Vegas slots as all the modules in the truck died. They had to disable each one until the culprit showed up as power train fault. They had a computer expert from Ford come in and take over the diagnosis. He said it was the box on top of the transmission which they had already replaced from the last time of dart parts. They have had my truck for 3 weeks again trying to figure it out. They replaced it today and the expert ford tech must watch my truck for 2 days to verify it’s fixed. Apparently he has seen this before.looks like I’ll get it back this Friday if no more faults come on. He has his laptop watching it in real time to catch anything . Sucks for ford as this is a $2400 part. When they were diagnosing my truck this last time looking for the can-bus gremlin, I would get all kinds of faults with just the truck running in park. Haven’t seen any faults on the ford pass app today since they replaced it again today. Luckily the transmission didn’t have to come out to replace the part.

I know that the hybrid transmission is covered by 8/100 warranty but wonder if that controller falls under that warranty as well.
