I do a lot of kayaking. Always leave my key fob in a Faraday bag inside vehicle and use keypad but did have a door only key cut and have it tucked under the Mav just in case.So I rarely do this, just occasionally when duck hunting and it's best not to have a fob in my pocket. Have never had a problem on my f150 but I did this on the Mav Lariat and the factory Keypad would simply not work at all. Finally had to call my son to Uber a key up. After getting in, I randomly tried the steps to fix the intelligent access entry lock and unlock feature and voila the keypad worked again. No idea why intelligent access would fix the keypad but it did. Isn't intelligent access the handle sensor? So thinking as I post, duh, the handle sensor needs to work in conjunction with the keypad.
Regardless, expensive lesson. Will never lock key in the truck and rely on Keypad.
My F150 don't have Intelligent Access so I'll still do it on that truck
