So I found a dealership with a 23 Lariat Hybrid in Area 51 flavor. Has everything I'd want and more honestly. Lux package, floor liners, remote start, block heater, splash guards, 360 and assist, bed mat, no spray in liner. Selling right at MSRP $34,655. The thing is Area 51 isn't exactly my favorite color but I'd deal with it. Otherwise I'd consider it fairly rare to find and was surprised it wasn't gone already. I put a $500 deposit/hold on that till the end of the week.

I also have a 24 Lariat Hybrid Cactus ordered from another dealer but required nothing down and still have no build date or anything (ordered Oct 11th). I think that build was around $36,600~

However I found another dealer that has a delivery date around the first week of December which is essentially exactly the same as my order but has a moonroof (don't mind if it does or doesnt) but roughly the same cost and willing to sell at MSRP as well.

So I was just wondering if the good people here would tell me their opinion which is the better buy. I am more compelled to the 23, because as far as I know I gain the windshield de-icer and a few extra goodies but lack of the spray in bed liner. So $2000 for basically a color I like, a spray in bed liner, and a moonroof I could take or leave, and lose the de-icer which I find value in because I live in South Dakota. Oh and I can get the 23 right now instead of waiting. I dont particularly care about waiting, I just don't want to continue to put miles on or drive the 2018 Honda Pilot I have because it isn't very great on gas. This will likely be my trade in assuming I can get a decent trade, or possibly private party.

My father seems to think the 24 is better as he feels it will have better resale if and when I go to get something newer.

If anyone has an insight feel free to comment. I have till the end of the week to pull the trigger the 23.

Anyways, thanks in advance everyone!
Go get that '23 and bring it home now. That '24 is a "bird in the bush". As for the A51 color, you will grow to like it like I did.
As far as a better resale on the '24 it's kinda early to worry about that. And, everything being relative, the '23 will get you the same or better profit. But, you'll probably never want to sell it!

I just looked at the Ford site a few days ago... if you click in the info button for the lux package it shows the windshield de-icer on it too.. so apparently they decided to keep it on. So in my case becomes a color thing so now I'm for sure on the 23 gonna pick that baby up this weekend or Monday at the latest.

I think that is set in my mind too, Idc about it all that much and like i said in a previous it is a very late 23, so It will be low miles 23 by the time i want to drop it (I drive maybe 10-12k a year and with less kids it could be less).

This 23 will suit me just fine.

And also no I don't intend to sell it, (my fiancé hates it though) she says I'm not being a man if I drive this (feminine, girly, non-manly) truck and that I should buy the tremor my father has (he is an actual farmer and goes off the path plenty times a day so he needs something like that).... even though I have no use for it so it is all for show... aka my future wife is nuts... and needs to get her shit in order. Also I have no need or complex that I need a big truck to fill a void lol. idk my girl is so crazy she says she wont even ride in it if I actually go through with buying it. More opinions needed lol (I'm positive ill be single from your responses).

Oh, I'm not looking to sell, this is gonna be my baby for a few years. it is only gone if a phev or a hybid AWD Mav is introduced.. I think the 23 offers better value in the long run, and a discontinued color which is basically the azure with metallic.

Your state pers property taxes should be lower too for every year you have it vs. one a year newer!
SD has no property tax on vehicles and I'm sorry for those of you that do, because I feel it is complete bullshit.

Area 51 was a popular color, and since it is now discontinued for 2024, it will be rare and might add value at resale time. Colors do grow on you. Didn't care for the orange accents in the XLT but got used to it. I do have an area 51.
Had never considered that, and I knew it was popular but seemed to die off. Rare color right up my alley though! I think I would have been annoyed by the xlt at first too, so i don't blame ya on that feeling.

Your WS looks fine. Another thing missing from the 2024 will be the heated wipers, if you care. I think that and the already-mentioned keypad are the only real Lariat changes.
yep covered that, but apparently is on the lux and confirmed on there from ford website. So i guess they decided not to drop it but tell no one... or it isn't actually there... scary thought...

I notice that the wipers are not listed on my 2023 Lariat Lux window sticker, and I've not checked them yet to see if they are there. My 2024 is still about 60 days away. Guess I have to buy it to see what's in it.
Just look to see if there is a thin line running under where the wipers would be... I would guess its a single maybe dual heating element thing. Looks just like the heating element on back windows.

First, get quotes for the Pilot online at CARVANA, Carmax, etc. Print and take the highest one with you to the dealer for bargaining.
Ironically they aren't very high... I had a 30k offer late last year and now im at 22k. I posted it onlin (FB marketplace) and my phone is practically nonstop and that is at 26,500. I think I already have 13 offers after 12 hours of being posted lol.

this is my listing to anyone curious

Do you mean actually buy the Tremor from your father or just buy a Tremor? The only way I would recommend not getting the 23 hybrid is if you were thinking to change your mind and want a AWD Tremor. If it hybrid you want get this one.

I'm reminded that both the 2022 and the 2023 Ford Maverick manuals refer to the rear heated window (defroster) in a few locations. But there is no such thing, even on a Lariat Lux. My truck lives in the garage, so it really isn't an issue for me.

Hopefully if they list it in the package, it will be there. My 2023 window sticker does not reflect the -$20 for modem removal...but it isn''t there in the truck either. Just Ford being Ford.
