Am I the only one who is getting a Gear selector warning?
This puts my Maverick into a powertrain failure mode. No throttle, Electric drive only, if you slow down to the side of the road and m I've the Gear selector know if you are nearly stopped it slams on the parking break. Then displays all the warnings related to every feature that relates to anything powertrain related.
The only quick way out of this is to disconnect the negative battery cable for about 30 seconds and reattach it..
That seems to be the only way to get it out of limp mode. Fordpass records poeertrain issues etc. But not the initial issue reported, regarding the Gear selector not being in the right position or similar message. I have had this issue repeatedly since roughly 3000 miles.
I baby the shift know, not rapidly moving it. But apparently it may g Dave some slight defect causing it to report it is not in gear???

I've had it to the dealer twice, each time they were unable to locate something to point to. Evidently the system is not recording the error in a way that can be identified by the scanners.

Any ideas, or anyone else having had this issue and gotten resolution would be appreciated.

Check your 12 volt battery's health, top it off with an overnight charge and make sure you've gotten all your software updates done.

If the problem persists, take it to your dealer.

First have to check out 12v battery. Put on good multi phase maintainer probably for several days. Then if doesn't work consider replacement 12v battery. Maybe you can get dealer to run the "overnight charge test". If they decide to check with each module disconnected they will need truck for several days maybe one more day for each module.

Have you considered taking it to another dealer? Seems something this drastic would be more apparent to a scanner. Let us know how it goes.

I replaced the defective original battery with an AGM that has an 80 AMP reserve. That solved all of the Deep sleep messages last July.
This wierd gear selector error has occurred before and after the battery upgrade!

It totally seems related to either a defective selector know, or moving it to quickly and it gets lost!
I'm making a follow up appointment for next week, I'll keep you posted.
I'm also hoping Ford gets on the bandwagon wagon for this..
